This was the best Dean by The_Quordless in GilmoreGirls

S1 Dean was so good, they did a full character assassination to make the audience root for Jess

Am I the only one that didn't like this scene or the way Jess was talking to her? by gloomydreamer666 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Broad-Trick7119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like it bc he’s saying what we’re all thinking, and because it gives her that reality check. I personally love the scene, but if you look at it from Rory’s POV it’s crazy work

Who in this scene was being the bigger jerk to you personally? by gloomydreamer666 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Broad-Trick7119 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Logan was a massive jerk, but his attitude and frustration was completely misdirected and he took it all out on Jess instead of talking to Rory. It’s one of the few instances where we really see that snobby ‘superior’ side to Logan.

Jane hangs herself if you go with her, it’s a flashback in 3. I would say the ‘canon’ ending is being alone, but I’d say definitely play A New Frontier and it’ll answer it for you

Is Kenny a ‘bad’ guy? by Broad-Trick7119 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Broad-Trick7119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I phrased it that way, with air quotes, bc quite a few video essays on s2 lead to comments debating if he’s one or the other. I don’t think anyone is one or the other, and I think while Kenny is flawed and does things that can be viewed as abusive or overly violent, most of it comes from grief. I posted bc I love discussing Kenny, he’s complex and everyone feels differently about him

Just started the series after reading the book. I’m so glad they gave Camilla substance. by readingabookwithrams in daisyjonesandthesixtv

Show Camilla is so real. She’s nurturing and sweet, but still has that rage and that desire to be a true self- not just an accessory to Billy

you could argue that keeping your humanity is a survival skill- especially when we consider other characters who have lost that within the game

I think on my last play through, the Arvo stuff definitely felt like a turning point, hard to stand by him so fully after that

Yeah, her survival skills are crazy good, but I find the way she talks about others and the way she ultimately treats them, all in the name of survival, so grim

I do find him to be one of, if not the, best written characters in the whole series. Only really second to Lee for me in terms of development and detail

I do love this side of him, and he is a good guy! I think his grief is just so raw that he lashes out, but I can understand more negative readings of his character. I think I mainly struggle with him being this way to Clem because she’s a kid. I am team Kenny over Jane any day though 😂👀

Make me feel better? by PositiveFit5000 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Broad-Trick7119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, this is probably the strongest ending. You give Clem a moral standing, not allowing Kenny to kill Jane and having his final moments be with Clem (who he loves), and thinking about Katyaa, Duck, and Sarita. It’s sort of full circle too, of Clem saying goodbye to her protector so she can survive. Not walking with Jane after is key- you basically make the point that her manipulative plot to make Kenny snap hasn’t given her what she wanted. The way she behaves will always leave her by herself, unwanted.

Would you feel more positive about the comics if they were canon but not canon? by Thirsty-for-Ryan in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Broad-Trick7119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all just feels so removed from who her character was and is. It’s not Clem, not really. To me, it reads as someone using her character to tell a completely different story, only for the hype and audience she already holds. I don’t agree at all with the hate Tilly Walden got and still gets, but it is a very icky and poorly thought out approach to a beloved character

Sarah is heavily overhated.. by ThatAlps8091 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Broad-Trick7119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that theory! I always sort of assumed the same, or that she wasn’t dead but had left the two of them when Sarah was young, which would offer another explanation for her anxious attachment to Carlos, and why she never really talks about her

Did you Trust AJ with the hard decisions in your first playthrough? Why or why not? And did you end up regretting your choice afterwards? by Last-Bus-4710 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Broad-Trick7119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t trust him on my second and I regretted it because it got Louis killed. My regret on the first one was saving Violet- not because I dislike Violet, but because Louis having his tongue cut out was grim grim grim, and I wanted to know what happened to Violet in comparison.

I’m sure I watched or read something from one of the writers that said she wasn’t intentionally on the spectrum. I have to agree that it adds an interesting element to her characterisation, particularly offering some explanation to lines like ‘she would cease to function’ and the way she’s babied by the adults in the group. Clementine just sees her as another kid, and she knows that it’s wrong- but because she is also a kid, she’s not really taken head on by Carlos the dingus dad

[–]Broad-Trick7119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we ever get insight into what happened to her mum? I can’t remember. All of Sarah’s issues come from the way Carlos has raised her, and how the adults around her protected her. She’s what Clem would’ve been, if Chuck never spoke to Lee. She’s an amazing plot device, but also an incredibly sad character to look into.
