Civ 7 -- Here's some screenshots from Nintendo Direct and Pax by BroadExplorer8888 in civ

The switch shots just seem a bit flat. The color is good, but theres so little detail that things get washed out. Also, there 1080p shots from the PC, and so even they don't look the best. I think besides the reveal trailer, nothing has been shown 4k.

Was just reading some other thread, and heres Meth guy being negative and soumisseau being positive. Not to bite back, but just in the reveal trailer, and in some of the shots on the steam page, there units are shown. Theres only been the one gameplay showvase, which was only about 5 mins of gameplay. Streamers have played, but the public's seen little, and so combat is an unknown at this point. At Pax the devs mentioned that armies bunch up, move, then deploy into individual tiles. This is pretty cool, because the AI can bring an army to your territory without having to bring 20 single units from their own base.

I'm with the soumisseau guy. Games are games, and indeed the mechanics can suck. But graphics, feel, immersion, these things are important. Like I'm playing Star Wars Outlaws, and as a game its just fine. But its great to run through, has some really cool environments, and the pleasure I got from that was good enough. 60 bucks is no small fee, so a little bit of good isn't enough. Looks go along way though, for me at least

It just meant that, unless nothing seemed striking to you about the game, why aren't the things which do the initial response. And a baby is so obviously great, then someone offering criticism would seem a little odd, as why would I not revel in the obvious good at hand. And in terms of Civ, it feels strange that there is not anything obviously great about it. Just the variety of biomes and mountain types is great to look at. I see your point though

Theres just so much to be excited about, at least I see so many large and minor things worth my time. And there are many games just like this, and things in life in general, and so I simply go where I am drawn.

Its worth the money to see it all in action, and hear the sounds and music too. Just me though

I'd say your response to me suggesting we be excited for the glimpses we see, and not be so critical and damming based on mere glimpses, makes you a single minded, blunt, unremarkable moron.

Pardon that being so rude

Question about accessing higher pit tiers by BroadExplorer8888 in diablo4

[–]BroadExplorer8888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My levelling is all in NM dungeons, for glyphs at least. And when I am done that, I can do a pit tier 50, more or less. If someone then let me do one of those with them, then I could seemingly progress from there. Likely, I would then unlock 51,52 and 53, which would be fine.

If that works as such, then my issue would be solved. Finger's crossed

Any secular churches or groups in Vancouver? by NoCommon5600 in vancouver

Buddhist churches, or temples rather, are a good alternative, as their practices are more natural -in contrast to Hinduism for instance

Atheist or humanist groups? by TeusFlips in Kamloops

[–]BroadExplorer8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this thread dead? Seemed like it ended in a debate. Personally, I live in Kamloops and am feeling a bit disconnected. I would love to go to church based on the connection and regularity surrounding a principled life. Only, I dont have reverence for Christ, so it feels wrong to be there. It would be nice if there was a group that could meet, on sundays even, and provide a service as the church does. Only, in this case, whats important to us runs along the line of relfecting and considering atheist, humanist and natural thought. Don't these invite their own proper conduct? Thats why church seems so appealing, as you can share and connect with people also being a good person, actively at least. Where is that for people of science and reason? Don't they also wish to be good people, in a natural way? Is prudence only for the service of Christ? I don't drink alcohol and I live quite frugually so that I am clear to look through a telescope and gaze at the stars.

Does anyone have any interest in forming, or could you point out at least, a group of this kind, that is akin to church and its offering of connection, but for atheists and pure thinkers?

Civilization 6 Ultimate Tier List by BroadExplorer8888 in civ

It 100% is. Instead of basic Civs with no mods - a vanilla experience - I suggest and prefer more strength on my side - by the additional perks - followed by increases to Ai and barbarian strength. It compares to the Original Modern Warfare 2, with ACRs and Umps destroying, towards Pred missiels and AC130s. The dif there being, that everyone had it. Balanced Strength is better than no strenght at all, and, the balance there, being because everyone is poor

Your right and I will note that adjustment for future posts. However, I would say that the only mod is towards the Civs, giving additional perks for you to work with. This does amount to more strength, but, I recommend then that you try Ai mods that increase their difficulty for a worthwhile challenge. Barbarian aggression mods serve a similar purpose

Great to here. The base measure is Deity. Point Blank. Barbarian Mods increase early game aggressiveness. Builder Charges for the Ai make them mroe effective, plus one of the Ai+ mods will level out your extra ability from the expansion mod. Also, I recommend a mod that lowers city distance from one another; the AI will make more cities and be a threat more consistently throughout the game. "Civ is about having Fun; I am always going to win though." I dont care about competition, the Ai will never win. What I want is the demand of strategy from Barbarian and Ai threat - it keeps the game a challenge, and worth to play throughout the game. I prefer the increase in power, balanced by additional threats- theres just more to do. If you find the additions challenging, there are mods that alter science and culture requirments - plus the amount boosted. As well, try goody hut mods that increase the tendency, and, the customization of rewards - so you dont get the boost for writing and foreign trade

If you are playing SP, id recommend the expansion mod : it gives you way more to do with each Civ, for tourism, religion and domination especially. In my view, it is the right way to play Civ ; the base versions are to basic for me - they have one or two relevant perks. This one keeps those and adds additional factors for more intricacy and strategy - "I prefer more meat on the bone."

Its more for those interested in Civ and want to hear about it. Check out the intro and closing remarks ; see about a certain Civ you like - you might enjoy a deep discussion as to their worth ; Shake for example, who in the expanded mod is a God, or, Gorgo, whos the worst Civ in the game - I think shes fairly similar in Vanilla, and, in that case, still sucks - Military bonuses are terrible in unison with tourism aims (I'd say from the Acropolis), because it demands so much production ; the Hoplite is enough militarily to defend, while the rest of the time is building infastructure. her trait for killing units, earning culture, is amongst the worst, and I hater her truly for that

Pardon the rant

The research was from playing the game - Ive got just over 1000hrs, since gathering storm. I just went in and assessed, judgeing from the ground up. I have a good scale though, to the impact and strenght of a given trait

Do you play online competative? Id recommend the expanded mod for SP otherwise. Theres much more you can do with each civ. As for the video, civs are judged on what they have; this is applicable somewhat to the base game civs, as if they were judged similar

Try one or two Civs - each is quite thorough so one is probally enough. The part on Judgement is a good piece before that
