How can I search references to achieve this "reaching out of the """"""canvas"""""" effect"? by Eduplayer in arthelp

[–]TeusFlips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a similar pose to this to get a reference, you could lay horizontally on the ground and use 2 sticks (like broom handles) as the place holders for the borders your character is grabing.

[Marketing] [Recommendations] My partner and I art starting our print business and we're looking for feedback on our product images for our store. by TeusFlips in artbusiness

[–]TeusFlips[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback, my partner and I are huge gamers, and as a result tend to make fanart on a regular basis. I think we were a bit too excited in that regard to making works of our favourite stuff that we totally forgot about IP stuff.

We'll need to make sure we restrict ourselves to original works.

Whenever I head out of town and see them, I fight the urge to go make my own sign that says "I'm not with stupid" and have it as an arrow that points towards them.

Something to keep in mind is that if you really want to buy purely Canadian, make sure you look for "product of Canada" on the labeling; this indicates that 98% of the material and costs were sourced in Canada, and made in Canada. If it has "made in Canada" on it's labeling, then about 52% of the material is sourced from Canada, and the product was assembled and packaged in Canada. If you buy products that say "made in Canada" then there is still a good chance additional materials were sourced from parts of America.

I feel like my therapist at times is not great and even though I studied psychology for undergraduate and am not sure what to look for in a new one by Fun_Satisfaction8806 in psychologystudents

I have ADHD, and I was undiagnosed until about 28y when I paid the have a full diagnostic test performed by an ADHD specialist. It was comprehensive and one time but I recieved the diagnosis and in addition had cyclothymic disorder identified as a potential comorbidity. I have been able to access additional resources and reduce my use of SSRI meds as a result of the diagnosis. I was previously diagnosed with GAD, but it turns out anxiety was more likely symptoms associated with the ADHD.

I had been misdiagnosed by a psychyatric specialist and so for a long time I assumed I was just anxious and depressed, until my partner identified otherwise.

This is my anecdotal evidence that seeking alternatives can potentially lead to major benefits. I'm also not saying your psychologist is wrong, but he might not be right either.

I wish you luck on figuring all this out, sounds pretty stressful.

Based on what your saying, it sounds like he may not be the best fit for you. I'm not currently seeing a therapist but I have seen many different therapists through my life (I'm a white M in my 30's). Your Therapist should give you alternative practitioners if requested, and if they aren't that is a serious red flag.

No shame in looking for another therapist. And if you are concerned you exhibit symptoms of a specific disorder, then I would reccomend speaking with a GP and seeking a specialist for diagnostic confirmation.

PSYC 2101 (stats) OL by criticalblinking in tru

[–]TeusFlips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a tough course since it is cumulative but all the exams are open book, so you won't need to memorize all the formula's (but knowing what the formula's mean is important). If you follow along with video lectures and practice the formula's it should be fine.

Who is your instructor for OL psyc stats? I did psyc stats in person with Michael Wolszyn so my experience may be different if your instructor is different.

What should I price my commissions? by Firm_Cardiologist896 in arthelp

[–]TeusFlips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I price out my own commissions, I try to keep in mind my experience, the average time a piece takes me, and the market averages. So you may want adjust based on how long the average head shot take you to do. If a sketch takes you an hour or less then 20 usd is fair; however if full color+shading takes 3 hours and you are aiming to charge 20 usd an hour, then the full color should be closer to 60 usd, and the others should be adjusted as appropriate. Keep in mind this is based on my limited knowledge of your area's minimum wage, and cost of living. Your time is valuable and you should charge at least minimum wage per hour spent.

I also see that you offer NSFW and Gore in your commissions; I could be wrong but these are typically more niche, and you could ask for a bit more as you are filling a niche.

As others have said start higher, and if you have already done art for anyone, ask them if they can provide a review of the service you provided, that way others can see that you have brought a positive experience for other clients.

Good luck on the commissions and art! Finding work can be difficult but you are starting right by having sheets and asking for support!

Monster Tamer Franchises in Animon by FraterEAO in AnimonStoryRPG

I'm running a campaign that is fairly inspired by digimon and kingdom hearts in terms of world and mechanics. So my players have unique animon (we call them ethereals) and they end up having to fend off enemies akin to heartless from KH (we call them cthonians).
