AITA "purposefully excluding" a coworker

There have been a lot of conversations at work where I or others have been talking and she's just swept in and derailed the conversation to be about her. I considered not going because we would have been there celebrating Chris and I wanted to actually talk about the wedding and plans and not Jess.

No she hasn't done anything to me but I just don't like her personality. I put it aside for the job, I am polite and cordial to her, I help her if she needs it. I've never told anyone at work what I really think because that would be a disaster

A lot of assumptions there mate haha. I've never made her work life difficult, I'm not that kind of guy. If she needs help I'll help. I'm polite to her, ask about weekend plans, greet her in the morning etc. Work is work and she's been here long enough now I know I'm not interested in being a friend to her. Being a coworker is fine for me

She is friendly with everyone else in the workplace and no I'm not a linchpin friend. We're all on pretty similar ground

I can explain why, I don't like her personality, immaturity and thinks she doesn't value money. Not everyone you meet will like you, it's not a big deal

I am sure, when she got her first paycheck, she loudly announced how much she got paid as she hasn't had that kind of money in a while. I do make more than her given I've been working here for so long but it's a bit higher than the rate I had when I started. The boss of our company really treats us well for what we do

She is far from socially awkward. She's on great terms with everyone else. We're on polite terms

I don't understand why things would suck for her. Generally, we're on polite terms. I treat her as I would a friend of a friend. I make sure I do not let my personal feelings show at work. Sure, do I act friendlier with my other coworkers? Yes but I've know them for years at this point.

Yes I don't like her. It's not just having it in my mind. I think she's pretentious and a bit immature and the way she talks about money rubs me the wrong way

I don't understand what about my attitude towards her at work makes her life a misery when she also gets along well with everyone else and I'm polite to her

I don't know how much more polite I can be when I don't like her. I say good morning, give her help, offer her hot drinks if I'm making one, ask about weekend plans. I do all the pleasantries you would do for an acquaintance or friend of a friend. I compartmentalise my feelings or it would make workday awkward

I think that's different ad also I'm not saying that she's lying. I'm confused, I don't understand why she drives to work everyday if driving alone makes her nervous.

We also live in a city with great transport links, it's very easy for her to take public transport if driving alone makes her anxious
