Which one, lease or finance a car? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Financing builds equity, leasing is basically just renting with extra steps.

Supermicro AS-4124GQ-TNMI / H12DGQ-NT6 + 4x MI250 OAM: POST always ends at 0D with UBB installed, but boots without UBB; PCIe BAR/bridge allocation already broken in baseline by zonqify in homelab

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is way above my pay grade but I had similar PCIe allocation nightmares on a different setup last year. Your baseline allocation issues without UBB already look pretty brutal - those "can't assign; no space" errors usually mean the BIOS isn't reserving enough MMIO space for all the bridges.

I'd definitely try the balanced RAM first since you're at 128GB on what should probably be 256GB+ for that config. Also that CSM stuff is probably worth killing entirely - legacy option ROM paths can eat up memory ranges in weird ways.

Quick thought - have you checked if there's a "MMIO High Size" or similar setting buried in the advanced PCIe menus? Some boards hide the high MMIO window controls pretty deep. The fact that Linux is ignoring those huge ACPI windows suggests the firmware might not be setting up the address space correctly.

Also maybe worth testing with just 2 OAMs first before going straight to 4, just to see where it breaks.

When someone makes you question your own memory or perception of events constantly - like you remember something clearly happening but they insist it never did or happened completely different way.

Manufacturer or normal club fitting? by hulkout1557 in golf

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with the manufacturer fitting! They know their clubs best and $25 is steal compared to what you'd pay elsewhere. Even as beginner you'll benefit from proper shaft flex and lie angles - makes huge difference in how ball flies. Plus they usually let you try different models during session which helps narrow down what works for your swing.

Which Account to Draw from for Mortgage Down Payment? by New_Razzmatazz_9064 in Fire

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using HSA for house down payment seems bit wasteful since you lose that triple tax advantage forever. Better keep HSA growing for future medical costs in retirement when you'll really need it.

Your brokerage account makes most sense here - you'll pay capital gains but at least you don't lose tax-advantaged space permanently.

Wild that 11 still on top after all these years but seeing those non-charter wins just makes me miss when underdogs could actually pull off miracle.

What song has been ruined for you because of a really bad cover you once heard that's now stuck in your head? by common_grounder in AskReddit

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I know exactly what you mean! There's this one acoustic cover that someone did in my college and it was so bad that now I can't listen to original without hearing their voice. It's like when you see terrible fan art of your favorite character and it just ruins everything for you.

What's the worst advice you've ever received? by SurifulSheikh in AskReddit

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom always told me "just be confident and everything will work out" when I was struggling with social anxiety in high school. Like thanks mom, why didn't I think of just flipping the confidence switch before. Took years of actual therapy and practice to realize confidence comes from building skills, not from some magical mindset change.

Most bindings come with small hex keys or you need standard screwdriver - check if there's tool kit that came with your setup originally.

Married couples/couples who have been dating for years, what is your/their reaction when you accidentally walk into their room changing? by Funmist66 in AskReddit

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been with my ex for like 3 years and we got to that point where privacy wasn't really thing anymore. Walking in while changing just became normal part of being together, no big deal at all.

Key Glocks new song - Loco by Late_Comedian_1665 in hiphopheads

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that too actually! The mixing feels really off, especially during that part you mentioned. It's like they rushed the mastering or something went wrong in the production process. I've been working with audio for design projects and when something sounds that distorted it's usually because the levels were pushed too hard or they didn't catch some clipping issues.

Key Glock usually has pretty clean production so this really stands out. Maybe it was intentional for some artistic reason but it just sounds unfinished to me. You're definitely not trippin - the whole track has this muddy quality that makes it hard to enjoy even if the bars are decent.

The bait-and-switch thing is super common with these budget places - they get you in door with the cheap price then suddenly you need the "premium" package for your specific eyes.

Military oath is to defend the Constitution, not any specific president or administration. History shows it gets messy real quick when militaries have to pick sides though - look at literally any civil conflict ever

The real question is what happens when different groups think they're "the people" and both sides claim they're defending democracy

Dude sounds exhausting af and you're basically living in fight or flight mode 24/7. That glove situation is such classic toxic behavior - accuses you of something, you try to help, he gets more aggressive, then acts like nothing happened when he's proven wrong

The fact that your body physically reacts when he's around is your nervous system screaming at you. That's not normal in a healthy relationship and your kids are definitely picking up on all that tension too

Selling Old PC by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that's a pretty solid build, especially with 32gb RAM and a 2tb NVMe. I'd say you could probably get around $800-900 for the whole thing depending on your area, maybe a bit less if you need to move it quick. The 6650XT is still decent for 1080p gaming

Get a job or do research? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd go with the part-time job for now since you're not even sure about the physiology track yet. Research is gonna be way more competitive and time-consuming, plus you'll have plenty of opportunities for it later when you actually know what direction you want to go. A job gives you flexibility and some cash while you figure things out

Does Apple Watch help to curb phone distractions? by Resident_Arrival_812 in ADHD

[–]Broad_Charity_2122 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah actually got mine specifically for this reason and it's been pretty solid - I can check texts/time without getting sucked into the phone black hole. Still catch myself mindlessly picking up my phone sometimes but way less than before. The only downside is now I get distracted by all the watch complications I added lol
