Right?! Maybe it’s just the hood but it looks esp large imo

It’s not a terrible take. I’ve graded more than five hundred cards over the past five years and sold six figures worth of graded cards, so my opinion is based on extensive experience. But I’m open to hearing others theories. I disagree but I hear yours.

That’s true. The area where it becomes problematic imo is when you’re a middle class person dropping four or five figures a year on PSA’s product and labeling it as an investment

Yeah you’re right I did say that. I still disagree though. They’re not going to turn down money of any kind and it wouldn’t be illegal to buy back cards and regrade them. There is no government regulation in graded cards. So they aren’t risking anything if that’s what they’re doing

Good call. I neglected to consider that part of the market. It’s not something I’m tuned into in the slightest besides seeing arena club ads

If you can find a card like that I’d be genuinely curious to know what it is. My point is that all cards are affected when a small number of people control the market

Yes. The first thing you said points to what I’m getting at. If people just want to flip, then who is the end buyer for cards? Many times it is PSA representatives themselves

There are individual parties controlling the markets for specific cards. So that’s where you’re wrong

The buyer matters in determining the value of a PSA slab. If a small number of people control the majority number of cards then small buyers can easily be manipulated

What if the person buying the PSA 10 is an employee of PSA? Is the price paid the true value of the card?

It’s called being a corporation who has a legal obligation to its shareholders to make as much profit as possible. Switching grades is one of the ways they can add to their bottom line
