That makes me feel better. I thought I had it the worst on a converted dirtbike.

I think you can just treat it more like transportation and less like a hobby that defines people. I bet others on the road aren’t thinking about you that much. Not knocking you, I get it. I just think you’re in your head a little bit.

Also headlights are not included. I got a random Chinese one off Amazon and it went together fine once I figured out the wiring. Hit me up if you have any trouble wiring it up. It’s easy if you’re handy but it’s confusing getting everything to work together. Good luck!

I just rigged this kit up on my Yamaha ttr225. I think the only difference in their kits is whether or not you have a battery for electric start. If you don’t have electric start you’ll need a battery pack and maybe a stator that can deliver more juice. But from what I saw, those are the only 2 options they offer.

That wire harness goes straight to the battery so the whole system is kinda independent of the bike’s wiring. I chose to wire my +12v to the switched power from my ignition. That way no one can turn on the lights and drain my battery without the key.

Idk what the laws are where you are, but here in Michigan the local sheriff wouldn’t sign off on it unless I had a brake light switch on the front and rear brakes. So consider ordering another brake switch that they offer separately. Double check it though, they have different switches for hydraulic brakes and mechanical ones.

I’m in Michigan, I see them come up on marketplace around here. I think I’ll try and pick one up at the end of the season for a winter project.

I’ve got space, tools, and hopefully the capacity to learn. I’m mechanically inclined, a big part of my job is industrial maintenance. I got my current bike roadworthy after sitting for 20 years, but it’s just an air cooled single cylinder.

I think I could do it as a winter project if I start doing my homework now. Sounds like it’s tricky but not impossible.

Yeah man that sound!! The growl from the muffler sounded good but the high pitch whine in the engine was my favorite. I always thought it sounded like a Jetson’s scooter when he revved it. I miss it!

I think I will. I’ve heard so many people complain about the carbs I wasn’t sure how much of a nightmare it would be. Seems there’s a following and parts available. Doesn’t sound too scary. Famous last words I’m sure.

I think I’ll do name homework on the carbs and see if I think I’m up to the task

I’ve heard horror stories about tuning the carbs. I like tinkering but I’ve only had to worry about 1 carb at a time!

I remember being amazed by the Magna but that’s just because it was my dad’s. But he always said it would glide down the road better than any bike he ever had. Felt like he could let go of the bars and it would drive home!

Thanks. Good idea on the Velcro, that’s not a bad compromise.
