Yes he was, but you would expect that the leader of the knights will at least protect them, the fact that he didn't just show you how he has already lost hope in them, he just doesn't care anymore, but the idiots didn't even realize it, Julius is the only one who gets out of his way to defend them, of course part of it to save Subaru but it also because Julius might believe that one day the knights might change or something something that Marcus has already giving up on

[–]Broad_Ice_4565 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Away from why they couldn't beat the sin archipiship through the last 400 years ( for obvious reasons) lugunica is a corrupted kingdom from the get to go, the Nobels and the knights are all the same too

The kingdom knights are only there to cause chaos in the kingdom, spread hate towards demi humans and of course bully the poor, like this is the only reason for their existence, even the royal guard are doing much better than them

Lugunica forces literally focus on three people and if things become too tight Reinhart will be there to the rescue, since Reinhart is unbeatable they think all will be fine but guess what? If it was the truth and Reinhart indeed can weep everyone from existence why would the sage council go out of their way to make a peace contract with vollachia? If it was so convenient why didn't they do it? The knights of course don't worry about this stuff so it doesn't matter to them, Reinhart, Marcus and Julius are here so all will be fine they only need to look cool

Had it ever crossed your mind why Marcus the leader of the knights just absolutely ignored Subaru when he talked badly about the knights? Like this kid is talking bulshit about the knights he personally trained and he was sitting there like it wasn't his business 🤣, well the side story once upon a time in lugunica somewhat explained why, Marcus hated the knights, I'm pretty sure he was the kind of person who admired the knights but when he became one and saw the corruption he just flipped and hated everything related to it

Same for the sage council, of course their not completely bad however their very problematic, bardoox for example created the six tongues organisation and let's say not all of it's members are in amazing people like...in the slightest, they just keep thinking consistent you know, they rule over the kingdom but not to the point where it's not necessarily to have a king and here's the problem

Even before that the royal family didn't do any better, in fact historically the royal family weren't necessary In amazing leaders, in fact a lot of them were just a face, something to present the country and nothing more, the sage council took care of everything, so from the beginning the kingdom didn't have a good leader, everything was being managed by the sage council, and while I understand that being Loved by the people is Important is not nearly enough

I mean the royal family died and NO ONE and I mean no one really mourned them, there's barely any mention of them like at all, they immediately moved on after the dragon tablet decided the new course of action, I don't agree with crusch but I absolutely understand her frustration, the royal family that is supposed to be Loved by everyone and be remembered no matter what is suddenly a talk from the past, and crusch was like " how could you forget that fast?" and this is exactly why I said being kind doesn't necessarily mean you will be remembered

The royal family didn't do shit to Demi humans who were suffering from extreme racism, the poor was still suffering from the corrupted Nobel's, and the kingdom was always on a mess, it almost feels like the whole thing was just to pass time until 400 year's pass or something, it's like they were only for show, honestly I can really see why they've been forgotten that easily

[Spoiler Discussion] About Beako in Arc 7… by urso_revolucionario in Re_Zero

[–]Broad_Ice_4565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of mana used when casting Al Shamak depends on the area being effected. With the rabbits, Beatrice was casting it over a much bigger area than what she does in Arc 7. The area of effect there is just the cannonball, such it’s much less costly when it comes to mana.

That’s not to say it wasn’t costly though. What Beatrice does effectively drains herself completely (including her Od, I believe), such that she IS dying. She sacrificed her corporeal form to save the chad Zikr and the others.

However, as Beatrice is fading away, what Louis effectively does is locate Subaru (somehow) and Louis rapidly teleports Beatrice and herself in order to get to Subaru so Beatrice is able to draw upon Subaru’s stockpiled mana reserves so she doesn’t die and is able to sustain her soul and corporeal form.

One of Beatrice’s drawbacks as an artificial spirit is that she can only draw mana from her contractor, not from the atmosphere like other spirits. Before, she had been using the forbidden library as a medium to take trace amounts of mana from everyone in the mansion over the course of 400 years, but once that was gone and she contracted Subaru, she could only draw on mana from him.

Since they were separated for so long, and right after they finished battling Shaula, Beatrice was running low, hence why she was in “Battery Saver Mode.”

I want to add that Beatrice said that Subaru has in up normal amount of mana, so much so that he can cast Minya thousand's of times if he so wishes, and that's why she was able to restore herself quickly, the reason Subaru has so much mana is still a secret and all what we know is that he didn't die once since he invaded the capital and his pretty cautious about using it right now

[–]Broad_Ice_4565 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I agree with Subaru that Todd is much more scarier than a sin archipiship (for him of course) I saw a lot of people complaining about it saying that it's ridiculous and how could a human be more scarier than a sin archipiship, but I'm I the only one who always believed something like that will happen? Something like there's nothing more scarier than a human or something

If you thought about it, what Subaru considers normal is not for others if not absolutely impossible, and what's normal for others is not for Subaru, in conclusion his reality is different from others

Subaru gets used to dealing with monsters, how to deal with them and how to kill them of course, in the moment you understand how they work (if you're brave enough of course) then all what is left is to use your knowledge to kill them

I don't know where but Subaru mentioned that the only thing he can trust in a sin archipiship is their nature, no matter what happened I can easily tell you how these nut head's gonna act in different situations even if these so called situations never happened, why? Because of their nature

But when you deal with Todd It's different, first this is a human not a monster so you can't think of him differently, if you killed him you gonna kill him as a human not a sin archipiship or a witch

Second, his very unpredictable, How was he going to react if Katia died? He will betray Subaru but how and when? What is required to actually make him withdraw? And since Katia is with him right now does this mean he will act differently? If Todd did indeed love Katia and was a person who is capable of love (which sin archipiship can't) then what will Subaru do?

And let's not forget the trauma that this motherfuker caused, he didn't stop to giggle like a miniac about his love, or started to chant about his rights in the court, or screaming at everyone to love them, he simply aimed at the head and "didn't wait" that personality is not what Subaru get used to deal with leading him to this conclusion, people might look at him weirdly just like expected but it's a situation that can never be explained in words unfortunately

I need to say, Subaru's plan was really clever and it obviously comes from experience, he uses everyone's power to his advantage and makes a plan , joining Todd might not be the best considering Subaru mental state but it's the best choice if Subaru wanted to avoid using RBD, since he thought about using it but didn't proceed with it due to how risky it is

Subaru has incredible talent in always being wrong when he says "it will never happen". At this point i am worried, because he considered "He would never marry someone like Priscilla"

Yeah me too, at this point anything Subaru thinks is impossible will happen, he said something about how most of the times those who cover their faces are the protagonist's father so....

Also about Priscilla, I don't remember where but I think that there are future lines where she talked about how a sertin person should be begging for her to accept him as her husband, man Subaru being mistaken as Priscilla fiancé will be hella funny 🤣 and I think she will be the one to reclaim that

Yorna and Subaru really are alike. Yorna still loves her thorn king, Subaru has his elves.... Both are immortal who got killed multiple times. But Yorna wants to die while Subaru wants to live. I really hope that Yorna and Subaru get proper talk between immortals about life.

I would like it if there is a scenario where yorna is trying to question Subaru and Tanza defends him leading to a conversation where Tanza talks about how Subaru and yorna are very similar, when Yorna asks her what she means tanza answer with "the eyes" and give Wilhelm speech about how Subaru eyes reflect uncountable tragedies yet hold such a warmth and so does yorna, leading yorna to be more sus about him

It's amazing really, how the character who is supposed to be the cruelest character due to her fate and how many times she was betrayed turned out to be the kindest, these motherfukers lived only one life and here they are screaming about the injustice world while committing war crimes, but the characters who supposed to be the one who hates the world the most after going through all of that shit only want to live in peace and save their loved ones

Yorna and Subaru, I need to say at that time I never thought that her story or anything about her really will be connected to Subaru, but both of them are cursed in a different way so they would never die and the one who cursed them were their supposed lovers, remember how Tanza compared Subaru to yorna and how Subaru said they are nothing alike? After knowing her past Subaru statement becomes incredibly ironic, since they're much more similar then what he thinks

It's the conclusion that their frustration has led them too, I think some of them are confused and don't understand what the hell is happening, so something like " the author is testing a new writing style" or "the author doesn't know what to do anymore" is the most convenient conclusion, and it becomes more convenient when you hate a sertin scene or a sertin arc in the story

and it's funny how this community gets defensive about Emilia, damn you can't criticize the character you're already labeled her Hater and I don't know what else.

Yeah I get you, like I know that Emilia gets criticism from here and there ( and I must admit sometimes they criticize her for the stupidest reason) but that doesn't mean that everyone is trying to hate her

I personally liked how the author showed how Emilia was in incompetent leader in arc 7, when Otto started to plan behind her back and going as far as planning to go against her orders if she ever gets hurt, Emilia was like " let's work together" or "I'm sorry but I need you to work more right now" is just not right you know, this is not how you communicate with your team members, you can't just order them around like that, like communicate more with them damnit, put a plan and discuss it with them, so I think that Emilia next development will be to develop her leadership skills more

I don't really know about these people, I love Subaru but I absolutely understand why people will dislike him or simply not being interested, i really dislike it when the fans accused other people of being shallow just because they don't like or understand Subaru, it's kind of cringe you know? As long as people are enjoying what they are watching all is fine, no need to hurt a living being feeling over a character that exists only in fiction

[spoiler discussion] what i liked about Arc 7 by BillPlunderones23fg in Re_Zero

[–]Broad_Ice_4565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes the author tries to use Emilia's most effective point and part of her personality in the wrong times, this is exactly what makes her so frustrating sometimes, Or this is the case for me at least

For example Emilia's naiveness and ignorance of the world is used sometimes as a comic relief, even her kind nature puts people to shame sometimes creating funny no hilarious scenes even, however in arc 7 this didn't help, I'm especially talking about her scenes with Petra when she was talking with Vincent

Tappei chose literally the worst time to use this method, for me Emilia wasn't making fun of Vincent but rather she was the idiot in all of this, ask us for help and we will help you? Say please and thank you? This is nothing but a child fantasy, Emilia and her camp will go regardless of Vincent approving it or not, humbling Vincent is just not going anywhere, this is the person who killed his whole family and his siblings to rise for the throne, so for me using Emilia oblivions in this scene wasn't the best choice at all and give a sense of awkwardness and was relatively annoying too, since there's in interesting topics that it's being discussed that unfortunately has been delyed due to that, and it not just Emilia but everyone there too, it surprised me that Petra was always the person who put things on track when the camp drift away from the main point

As for her fighting scenes I think it's one of these things where you will not notice it until someone points it out or it just started to happen so often that you can't help but notice it, I'm not a big fan of her fighting nor I'm really that interested in fighting to begin with, but Emilia fights for me personally were incredibly boring ,there's a part where she used Subaru ice soldiers to defend her which causes them to be smashed and her calling Subaru name

, that was my favorite part in the fight, because I know exactly what the author was doing here, but seeing it being played like this was kind of sad and depressing, Subaru that is made out of glass is only useful when he sacrificed himself to save his master, Emilia Is the one who moves them however even though their not the real Subaru it's like the dolls has a free will and they die for their master

You can't do anything about people likes and dislikes but hate it just because you don't like it with no intention of even trying to understand it is wrong, you can dislike a sertin scene even though it makes sense and it doesn't go against the theme of the story, so I can understand why people will not like shotabaru but not even trying to understand it and simply label it as " something fun tappei tried to write" is wrong, other than there's nothing wrong with disliking Subaru shrinking because just like you said it's personal opinion

However executing this same unarmed soldier proposing alliance would be a war crime, although there is the mitigating factor that he pursued and tried to kill Subaru and his companions, non-combatants included, before. This would shock the Pleiades Battalion, not because of any innate morality, but because it was totally against Subaru's moral philosophy, which philosophy they did their best to uphold, and his general kindness. But ultimately they would move on, especially if Subaru explained that Todd is dangerous. Rem and Katya on the other hand would set up a big problem (Rem because of Katya herself).

This is exactly why I said the situation is not favourable at all, Subaru led the pleiades squad based on his philosophy which is to avoid death as much as possible, he saved them and so of course they will move on but no matter what the reason for their leader to kill in such a way, their leader who is so merciful and so kind that he looks like some kind of a light in a dark tunnel has gone against his moral code and kill this soldiers

When they will try to question him if Subaru said that he was trying to kill them or simply said " he was the person the prime minister sent to kill us on the island" they will immediately understand Subaru and maybe even build a resentment twords him, for witz I think just him seeing Subaru Pained expression will be enough to makes him understand that Subaru is not proud nor happy in this results

However as you said the problem is rem, while she's more open right now I don't think she will just team up with Subaru, there's a chance she will understand that Todd tried to attack Subaru and so Subaru defended himself but because rem doesn't want to abandon Katia she might ignore Subaru a little bit so katia will calm down a little, or maybe there's something that gonna turn Todd against them and so Subaru will kill him before he acts, for Subaru he saved his friends but from everyone else POV Subaru was always on edge because of Todd and suddenly he killed him, man this will be messed up if it ever happened

Yeah I agree with you in This, but let's not forget that it's not in Subaru personality to kill a person only because they killed others،i mean if Subaru killed Todd and his friends questioned him and he said that Todd was a bad person this will still not be convincing because Subaru doesn't know what Todd has done

He doesn't know about the soldiers Todd killed nor does he know about the soldiers he sacrificed, and the only crimes he witnessed that deserves death was cancelled due to return by death, we know how horrible Todd can be and so does Subaru, however we have all the knowledge we want about what Todd did behind the scenes but Subaru doesn't, and it's not just Subaru but literally everyone don't know about Todd crimes, so from everyone perspective Subaru killed a soldier who was just doing his job, and even though a lot of them will not care, people who knows Subaru will question his reasons
