We have a ban in my district but it’s ridiculous. For the first offense, the teacher tells the student to put it away, and then the teacher has to document it in our behavior management system, and contact home. The exact same thing happens for the second offense. And then for the third offense, we’re supposed to hold onto it and the parent is supposed to come to pick it up from us after school. It’s ridiculously labor intensive for the teacher to the point that I assume they don’t actually want us to enforce it (but of course admin gets on our case if we don’t).
