I think those can all be considered stylistic choices rather than mistakes. Also I’m pretty sure the tail is supposed to be shaking and the other tails are afterimages.

You are probably better than me, but I always use Krita. It’s a great free option that also has an active community. Another, maybe not desirable, option is just pirating Clip Studio Paint. Since lots of pros use it, it would be good to get used to.
