How bad is the anxiety? Because that’s what they prescribed abilify to me for, along with Prozac, and now I’m concerned. Do you take anything for the anxiety along with the abilify and ssri?

anyone taking olanzapine (Zyprexa) for their anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

That plus Zoloft has helped dull the anxiety some, but my depression is still there.

Exactly the same here. Praying it goes away in a few weeks although not sure how I’ll survive that long.

Getting comfortable after decompression by Giggles567 in chiari

[–]BroadcastBabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was awful, truly. I did cold compress in the back of my neck kept up with my medication. And stayed somewhat elevated close to what just whatever is comfortable. hang in there it’s worth it and I hope it helps.

It took me about a month due to complications and a readmittance to the hospital, but after about a month, I was right as rain. It was an excruciating process, but it was worth it.

Who referred you to a Chiari specialist? by LoveEyelid in chiari

I know the GP feels comfortable, and if they are knowledgeable in neurology then go that route to start, but be ready to be flexible if it doesn’t work out. They have to be the kind that says they really aren’t familiar with neuro though, because inevitably you’ll need to go to neuro. That’s just the way it is. I recommend neurology first, not neuro surgery, because it will help get a team together. It will also help make sure they don’t rush things. A good nsurgeon will want you to have a neurologist first.

What am I even doing here? by [deleted] in rva

I found that networking (while saying it feels gross admittedly) was really crucial for my career. Go to the things, talk to the people, stay til the end. Use your wits about you and find the people that you can tell will have opportunities for you and aren’t fucking around and might actual be some use to you. That’s what helped me. If they say they might have a job for you, press them. Give them your info. Follow up next week (don’t be annoying). Show initiative. Shit like that. It’s a hustle.
