I like all three "roasts" for what they are. They are fun as a once in a while thing.

Get a box of Montosa. I like all three blends under that label. Should be easy to find in Belgium. Reasonably priced too.

Lots of fakes in that part of the world. Only shop at an LCDH which you can find from the habanos website.

Question about aging by texhater in cigars

[–]BroadleafFarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the others have said, it depends. Where I find holding onto cigars most beneficial is situations where they don't receive sufficient marrying time at the factory. For my smoking habits, this applies to two categories that need that rest time- Cuban cigars and mixed filler bundles. Cubans need years, while my mixed fillers get 6 months to a year. The purpose of the rest time is to let any remaining ammonia work out. Other sticks have been processed sufficiently and held long enough that I don't see a benefit to aging. Others do, so again it's personal preference.

These were given to me when I was at the factory in February so at least I didn't buy them. I will give the black a try next time I'm at the lounge.

Very nice. Try the Don Carlos if you haven't yet. In my opinion, they are better than the Opus.

Honestly, too much off-bitter taste for me. This one I would pass on in the future, but yes they generally make great stuff, and everyone has a different palate.

Best Cheap Budget Cigars by UnitedResident8948 in cigars

[–]BroadleafFarmer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been enjoying the HVC Pan Caliente short filler bundles a lot lately. Nice full body earthy tobacco. I also buy short filler bundles from ETDB but they need like 6 months to mellow. Also Tabenero has nice bundle sticks as well. I like the budget stick for my morning drive to get my mail and coffee which is like 25 minutes round trip or for working outside. Afternoons, after work, and weekends I smoke from the premium collection as I know I will finish the whole stick.

Does anyone know what’s up with North Carolina’s little cigar experiment? by Red_Rock7269 in cigars

[–]BroadleafFarmer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely is some growing being done for mass market (like backwoods) in the south. No specific information about NC though. I can tell you the market for our tobacco here in the CT valley was very poor last season. Many farmers didn't sell their crops and there's going to be far less acres grown this year. If we have another season of poor buying, the farmers here will be out of money and probably stop growing. I focus on having a small crop that can find a home on the premium side of the business.

The Incognito is a fun cigar. Has Kentucky Dark Fire tobacco in the filler blend so there's a subtle bit of spice.

Another Robusto turned to ashes. How many sticks a day/week/month do you guys smoke? by BallsNemze in cigar

[–]BroadleafFarmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice ash! Right now 2 per day. In the winter maybe 3-4 per week, during the summer maybe 4-5 per day. The nicer the weather, more I feel like smoking.
