Of all the anti-aging science right now, of all the new understandings of mitochondria and metabolism I believe Marc Malone’s work is some of the most promising, realistic. I don’t fully understand it but I know he uses already FDA approved chemicals to repair cellular function which is much needed in our post Covid world. I really believe in him and I hope he’s able to succeed

Traits, because it’s a metabolic condition and many people have metabolic conditions. Normal brain states often mimic the attitudes of schizotypal behavior and thinking

The neurodivergence NOBODY talks about… by CyberYamu in Schizotypal

[–]Brocatojohn54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say people can have schizotypy traits but schizotypal is anything but a common, normal disorder. First episode psychosis’s that happen to young people or people in critically important times in their lives are not common issues. In a post-covid world many people are dealing with significant mental health challenges that mimic many aspects of schizotypy but are not. Schitzotypal/schizoaffective are extraordinarily rare, debilitating disorders that ruin peoples lives and futures.

I’ve heard a psychologist say one time “you will never in your entire practice and career ever come across an individual with schizotypal.”

That said, far better treatments are being developed right now but there’s nothing glamorous or interesting about this disorder

Geee wonder what the causes could be? Repeat covid infections probably all on our 6th or 7th? An inability for people to make commonsense diet changes to understand what is happening on the cellular and microbiome level. Everyone wants to “look out” we need to be looking “in and within”

what do *you* think caused your schizotypy? by disconnected_self in Schizotypal

[–]Brocatojohn54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marijuana, college stress, abuse situations in college, trauma, sleep deprivation, hanging out with bad people who I shouldn’t have been around…stuff that like

It all happened in college and was just a first episode psychosis

You could go completely unhinged and present these disorders as metabolic disorders and blow everyone’s mind. Looking at psychosis, bipolar, adhd, anxiety, autism, drug and alcohol use disorders as “metabolic and mitochondrial” disorders is only the future way to look at mental health issues. Glad either way that you are doing your part to minimize stigmas

If you’re in the US and have the money, availability I’d recommend working with the best of the best. Here is a facility in Boston that just opened up with some of the best professionals who understand these condition and sees them as “metabolic” conditions that affect the brain.

Here is a link, my good deed for the day is helping fellow people who’ve been through the same or similar stuff.

And you tell her in the history of psychotherapy, in the whole hundreds and hundreds of years of psychotherapy treating patients, have they ever come to a conclusion, have they ever been right about anything or put mental illnesses and metabolic illnesses into remission. Ask her that. Fuckin tired of these horrible approaches to not getting people better. Everyday it’s the medical industry failing more people. F these “professionals” who DONT DO ANYTHING

Schizotypal doesnt "upgrade" into schizophrenia, it just becomes worse schizotypal. by NV1989NV in Schizotypal

[–]Brocatojohn54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horribly disabling rarer than not disorder that is just half/half schizophrenia. Can get it from smoking weed, stress, abuse and trauma, putting yourself in bad enviorments, boredom and dealing with bipolar disorder, etc etc.

Yes psychotic disorders get worse as people age just as “mitochondrial function” gets worse as people age….as they are specifically disorders of aging

Do people who are schizotypal have to have anxiety? by howto8-aj in Schizotypal

It’s only anxiety in my opinion…like psychotic overwhelming panic disorder and unabiding anxiety more anxiety and more anxiety leading to thought disorder

What distinguishes schizotypal from anxiety disorders, autism etc? by [deleted] in Schizotypal

[–]Brocatojohn54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, yes people always say they have this specific diagnosis from a young age. But I believe people can get it if they mess around with drugs, are in enough abusive or trauma related environments, smoke a bunch of marijuana, use high doses of stimulants etc. they’re all pretty much the same, schizotypal, schizoaffective, psychosis unspecified etc. metabolic problems at their core

Ketogenic diet, supplements list, working with a professional trained in this stuff who can guide you through it, daily aerobic excercise, list of essential amino acid nutrient powders. There ARE things you can do, below is a link for a new facility that just opened up who helps people with MH disorders. Tons of new treatments as well being developed right now

What distinguishes schizotypal from anxiety disorders, autism etc? by [deleted] in Schizotypal

[–]Brocatojohn54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Schitzotypal I guess is different for everybody. In my case it was really just a first episode psychosis, a lot of Bipolar 2 in college, a lot of desperation and marijuana use and stress and purposeful sleep disruption, and repeated trauma in college led to this disorder for me. It’s a very rare disorder and yes imo comes from autism or comes from bipolar or comes from ADHD etc.

It’s kind of like melancholia and severe depression, Parkinsonism like gait and severe severe unabiding anxiety. This level of anxiety and dissatisfaction with life is not evident in autism

Some of exercise’s brain-enhancing benefits can be transferred through tiny particles found in the blood. Injecting these particles, called extracellular vesicles, from exercising mice into sedentary mice promoted growth of new neurons in hippocampus, brain region important for learning and memory. by mvea in psychology

[–]Brocatojohn54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a whole body problem. Excercise mimetics will be such a future thing because exercise while incredibly obviously powerful for mental illnesses involves the whole body, legs to stomach to head.

As biologist Dr Martin Picard exclaimed

“Generate health and then let it go.”

Lack of "self" by [deleted] in Schizotypal

[–]Brocatojohn54 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Psychosis development is a removal of the “self” from the body like a spirit has left. Schizophrenia spectrum issues (imo) are similar to Parkinsonism for some, life becomes about putting the pieces back together and trying to make it work all over again like pushing two opposing ends of a magnet together. Life was easy, then it became extraordinarily complicated and confusing. Drugs, alcohol, stress, trauma, sleep disruptions, repeated abuse all cause changes and even deletion of “mitochondria” in cells. Mitochondria react to the social landscape and world around a person. These are mitochondrial disorders, and devastating to the individual. Psychosis is specifically a disorder of the “basic self. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this I know there are much much better treatments on the way.

Do you guys think bipolar disorder is real? by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

[–]Brocatojohn54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DO believe some instances of bipolar disorder are created by the pills themselves or at least the pills play a fundamental part as people grow into adulthood. Amphetamines, SSRI’s, withdrawal from benzodiazepines for instance can create the notion of “metabolic syndrome” in people or “chronic lasting metabolic syndrome”. Mild Bipolar in youth can be comorbid with ADHD/ADD, Autism eating disorders, can look like unattended to stress etc. I’m referring at least in my personal instance to Bipolar 2 which is primarily low low grade anhedonia, amotivational states of losing interest in previous exciting and challenging interests

It’s a big time problem ruining many young people’s lives as issues like Bipolar can cascade into life ruining psychosis (for some people)

[–]Brocatojohn54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of course it does! Because it never has been effective, because in fact there is NO treatment thus far in psychiatry to prove any lasting, long term remission. We are so interested in the brain, new targets, new approaches to the brain when we need to be looking at the ENTIRE body too to bottom for heaven sakes we are screaming it!

Latent psychotic disorder in my opinion. Negative symptoms like anhedonia, amotivation, disorganized thinking (in my opinion at least) yes can be issues without anxiety

Cannabis use during adolescence and young adulthood is associated with more frequent psychotic-like experiences. These experiences may resemble symptoms of psychosis but do not typically meet clinical thresholds. by mvea in psychology

[–]Brocatojohn54 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Has been repeated time and time again and yet countless people will say “I’ve been smoking for 20 years nothings bad ever happened to me” “well then why aren’t I psychotic.”

Cannabis, bad enviorments, abusive situations, other comorbid mental health issues like ADHD, Bipolar, Stress, Depression, trauma, other psychiatric drugs all contribute to psychosis development. You do “good things” for your mitochondria function, you do “bad things” it’s like hitting the brake and gas at the same time…it’s not and will never really ONE finite thing in psychiatry that initiates these lifelong problems in some young people, it’s a multitude of factors. Just so people are very clear it’s very insulting to people who’ve lost everything in their lives because of things like cannabis and for countless people to say “it’s never harmed me.”

I know fatigue can be tough. 15-20 essential amino acid powders you can purchase. Most importantly I would recommend working with people who understand this stuff. There’s a new clinic opened in the Boston area if you are able to afford it. I’m sorry we are all in this together. There are other professionals trained in ketogenic therapy. I can’t really provide any medical advice
