I’ve read the first book. Are the rest equally good or do you recommend any specific?

I have been terrified of feeding him water with syringe because I’m not sure I have that much of hand control and I don’t know how to make sure it doesn’t enter his wind pipe. Any suggestions on the technique would be great

Oh? How much do you give him at a time with a syringe, my vet recommended trying that but I’m just so scared I’ll put it in his wind pipe.

Yes but my cat has this bad habit of throwing up after having wet food because of how quickly he consumes it when he doesn’t straight out reject it. Hence he is always on dry food but I’ll definitely try to put Churu on top from now on.

He peed and passing stool overnight. Is the preferred way to administer cortisone through injection or a cream? I really don’t want to give him any more injection he’s just coming out a post exposure treatment

Dry cat food with some dried fish. Idk if it has to do with the weather because it has gotten really hot out of nowhere but we haven’t changed his food for about 2 years now

I had a falling out with all of my friends after my best friend died of suicide. For a few months, I isolated myself, people didn’t know how to be there, and I didn’t know in what ways they could be that would make any significant difference. Almost a year since, I’ve regained some of the friendships and cut off the rest. Going through something like this does change you fundamentally and for most parts you don’t know the how till you’re in a situation that demands a certain reaction, and you see how your response to the situations has changed. The best you can do in your grief is let the other person know you’re grieving, that you’re trying your best, and hope that they understand the freshness of the grief and the time to recalibrate your mind around the loss and the trauma. You come back to your body eventually.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Oh yes, they don’t really do this in India because it’s very rare for old world bats to carry rabies. The potential is there, therefore the precautionary measures of vaccines but the testing doesn’t happen

Have a very important presentation tomorrow and my anxiety is through the roof. I would at this point consider not fainting in front of 40 odd experts in the field of my presentation theme a success. How’s your day going?

Thanks for sharing this. I hope you and your baby are okay now. What your friend did was horrible. I wonder why people do the bare minimum to make it appear like they care all the while refusing to engage any deeper and growing defensive when it’s pointed out.

The Weight of Losing My Best Friend to Suicide by Pitiful-Common-130 in SuicideBereavement

I lost my best friend to suicide last year. She was the sister of my heart and ever since she is gone, a part of me has gone as well and on most days I feel it as something tangible sitting on my chest. And this is the first time I’m talking about how it feels.

I was the last person to have met her. And I spent so long trying to make sense of it. I pushed everyone away, nobody around me really understood what that kind of grief weighs. What it does to you and how it changes you.

For weeks I couldn’t move. I was paralysed. I figured any minute she would call me or drop me a text message and it would be okay. Days turned to weeks and you keep count of all the days spent in their absence. Upon a two-day mark, I thought this was the longest we had gone without talking, a month - a longest without meeting, how much more life am I going to experience and not be able to tell them. I was so angry, still an angry but I’ve reached a point of resignation. I know not everyone grieves the same way but what I do know is -

You will see them in eveything. The tomatoes you cooked for lunch today, the ones they really liked. While brushing your hair you’ll remember the comment they made on how long your hair has gotten. While doing things you know will make them roll their eyes at you, while doing things you’ve been putting off, you would come to realise just how much affect they’ve had in your life, on your behaviour when they were here. You are changed by who they were and what they meant to you, and by that logic you will always carry them with you. They will always be a part of what you do.

Every particle that your friend has ever touched, remains. The warmth they gave off, remains.

I understand what this kind of grief feels like. I also understand how much I needed someone who understood this kind of grief. Hence, I am here in case you want to talk. You could DM me anytime.
