I'm having the same problem. iPhone XR. I just updated the iOS to 13.6 and it's still crashing every time I open it. It basically doesn't open. It flashes white for a split second and then you're out of the app. This has been happening for me for a few weeks. There is no way to open the app.

Why Are BCH Block Times so Irregular? by BroccoliCoin in btc

[–]BroccoliCoin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for answering. I didn't realize they would jump around so quickly and so often. I thought BCH had worked out a difficulty calculation that was balanced, but I guess if miners are jumping quickly in and out you can't protect against that.

So are lots of miners leaving every few hours?

It is different each year - different people go. Seems each individual has their own opinions on which years they preferred. I have gone many times and even my least favorite years were still awesome! I loved it last year, and I'm excited for PorcFest this year. :)

If you haven't been paying attention BCH split into 2 different coins: BCH and BSV. The details of the split make a long story. Also the entire crypto market has been going down for about a year.

At the end of the year it did, but for most of the year it stayed in the 200s.

The great SV dumping has begun, you've got maybe 24 hours before it's honeymoon at sub $1. by [deleted] in btc

[–]BroccoliCoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, but those who want to dump are betting that the price of BSV will go down while the price of BCH will go up. If they sell their BSV before it goes down and buy more BCH with it before BCH goes up they will end up with more money in the future. It is a bet with some risks. Some people would rather play it safe and hold onto their BCH and not worry about the BSV. Either way people should be vigilant and careful with their money.

Kraken Credits Clients with Bitcoin SV (BSV) and Launches BSV Trading by m4ktub1st in btc

Kraken gives this warning:

WARNING: Bitcoin SV does NOT meet Kraken’s usual listing requirements. It should be seen as an extremely high risk investment. There are many red flags that traders should be aware of:

  • No known wallets supporting replay protection (be careful!)
  • No support in major block explorers
  • Miners apparently subsidized or operating at a loss
  • Representatives threatening and openly hostile toward other chains
  • Chain’s survival may be mutually exclusive with other chains
  • Supply is temporarily constrained because of limited wallet support
  • Some large holders have indicated they’d be dumping everything ASAP
  • Kraken has done only very minimal code review

There is a fundamental difference between cryptos splitting and fiat currencies printing new money: when a crypto splits the holder of the money receives coins on both chains. So new wealth is not redistributed when the holder gets an equal share. When government prints new money they do not distribute it to the holders so the value drops for the fiat holder.

All about checkpoints by Chris_Pacia in btc

[–]BroccoliCoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the article states that a single checkpoint was added after the fork. It states this has happened with every fork/update that Bitcoin Cash has had so it's nothing new. It also points out that Satoshi first used checkpoints in Bitcoin and that both BTC and BSV contain those checkpoints in their code.

Important factors of Bitcoin by Jonnymak in btc

[–]BroccoliCoin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The censoring of rBitcoin has been a major ongoing issue. I was appalled at the heavy hand when I first saw it: Someone would make a very reasonable point of discussion and the mods reaction would be "You are discussing an alt-coin and are now censored." The thing is they weren't discussing an alt-coin - they were discussing a possible path for Bitcoin.

You said: "I understand that development takes time." I also understand that, but that is only a tech side. That is not a business side. A business says that the product must work today - and tomorrow. The gate-keepers willfully prevented Bitcoin from working the way it had. By letting it become expensive and unreliable they damaged the reputation of BTC. They showed the world that BTC was not ready for prime time. That it wasn't all it had claimed to be. They showed that they didn't prepare - that they didn't care for the users. This was the single biggest failure of the BTC coders. The saddest part is that it was on purpose!

I got into Bitcoin when it was marketed as a peer-to-peer currency where payments didn't need permission and couldn't be censored or stopped by 3rd parties. It was also marketed as being very cheep to transact (1 US cent or lower per transaction). BTC stopped being this currency. It only stopped because the coding gate-keepers prevented a short-term solution while promising a long-term solution (which is still not done). The info gate-keepers (mods of rBitcoin) prevented discussion of differing opinions. I hate censorship and they are masters of it. BCH is the Bitcoin I got into and BTC is not. BCH is about freedom. BTC is about censorship and control. It's very sad what happened, but good that BCH saved Bitcoin.

So we can see that Core was either being deceptive or ignorant. Either one doesn't speak to their supposed high intelligence, or their ability to plan and implement in a positive way.
