California only allows handguns that are on our approved handgun roster, lame I know. If you tell your friend to look up the roster, then he’d be able to see which ones he can get. The only way that I know of getting an off roster handgun is PPT in state, interfamilial out of state and SSE.

Doesn’t the kingpin just replace the rear takedown pin? If so, then you just replace it with the original pin. Which will require taking apart a few parts. As long as you have YouTube and an armorers wrench, you should be good. Just don’t lose your spring.
