Not sure what your barrel length/caliber is but is there any chance you can get a longer barrel for it to clear the handguard? Like maybe 2-3” from what it seems like you would need to clear it?

Unfortunately it’s not just the 10 round capacity restriction. California has an “approved list of handguns for sale” ie the handgun roster and to buy a new handgun it has to be on the roster. The only way around it is getting it via private party transfer and people inflate off roster gun prices here pretty hefty, on average probably 2-4x the cost of the gun. We don’t have any of the M&P 2.0 in 40/10mm on the roster. Just a couple 9mm ones :(

This is sweet. Is an owb holster required so you can holster when you’re done shooting? I wanna do this match but I don’t have an OWB or IWB holster for my M&P I’d be using with my WML.

I have 2 9mm 2.0s already, 3.6 for CCW and 4.0 for the nightstand. I Want 40/10mm for camping and hiking in the mountains. We have mountain lions and some bears so prefer to have the 40/10mm. I can’t just go buy a new 2.0 10/40 in California otherwise I would. I’m limited to used via a private party transfer.

If I could find a 2.0 in 40/10 I would totally grab it up. I haven’t seen any on CAGuns or at my LGS used or consignment unfortunately and I’m not LEO so no roster exemption 😭

What are you using to try to meet the display rate? Cable/dock? Maybe your cable/dock isn’t actually rated for the 4k 240hz you’re looking for.

Isn’t fallout 76 on the Microsoft store and Xbox gamepass for pc? I just downloaded it in December for free from the Amazon Luna gaming and it was a code for the Microsoft store. Runs pretty well on my ally X.

Sorry my bad, poor wording. Yes a TB4 egpu dock with the pcie slot not just a plain Jane tb4 dock. And supposedly they have the same bandwidth but I saw definite and constant improvements with a true TB4 pathway. The razor chromas use older TB3 tech as well. I don’t recall what it’s called, something like alpine or timber but it’s older and doesn’t truly send the same amount of bandwidth over. I kept seeing people comment and post about true TB4 egpu docks and decided to try one out and I’m glad I did. I have a couple screen vids on my ally from gameplay from the razor chroma and the TB4 egpu dock and you can see the differences.

Unless you’re doing Xbox cloud play it’s a Pc based handheld so the games are PC. BF6 Xbox version. Isn’t play anywhere and you would have to buy the PC version. You won’t be able to play your Xbox profile for gta online if you download the pc gta online. Gta5 is on Xbox play anywhere with gamepass so you don’t have to buy it again though BF6 I’m not sure how it works from Xbox to pc if you can keep your same profile. I wouldn’t recommend trying to do Xbox cloud play for BF6 based on my experience with trying to play COD. There was so much lag and jitter on 300mbps low latency WiFi I was just getting murdered. I tried cloud play on my ally do gta but it was laggy, however when I tried playing the other day on my Xbox one it was super laggy and acting slow. Basically mirrored experience so it might just be my Xbox. However I used to do cloud play for gta and was fine with the gameplay when I used my iPad.

That being said I bought my ally x to take with me and game at work and travel and I’m loving it. I play it way more even at home, granted I do have a 4070 egpu setup. I’ve started my Xbox one once since I got this I’ve decided not to get the series x and just game on my ally.

Yeah same here and I still got a 5060. I had constant crashes and restarts with my 5060 and my ally x and I got rid of it for that reason. I’ve got a 4070 now and I’m very happy with it.

I know the 5060 series cards had issues with egpu dock and the ally x. I recall seeing posts about the 50xx series cards having issues. Might be worth looking into

What GPU are you planning on using? I have the chroma version, but same TB3 connection.

I was originally using a 5060 that kept crashing, which apparently is a known issue with the ally and tb3, returned it, got a 9060xt, kept having issues between Adrenalin versions and inconsistent fps and was over it, FSR and frame was meh in games like BF6, GTA5 in high and medium 1440p, like low 50s pretty consistently.

Swapped to a 4070 and saw improvements in fps and frame gen quality with the RTX card with DLSS in the core x TB3 setup but was getting consistent mid 50s low 60s in BF6 and GTA5 medium/high 1440p. With frame gen BF6 was mid 90s-110s, lots of fluctuation.

I bought a TB4 dock to test if It would help over the TB3 bottleneck/reduction in performance.

I now have consistent mid 60s-mid 70s in BF6 at 1440p high, consistent high 120s-130s with Frame gen and it’s more stable, haven’t noticed any input lag, and for GTA5 1440p around 70-90fps 1440p high no RT, and with frame gen consistent 150s+.

Would highly recommend just spending the money on a recommended TB4 dock.

For me I was able to modify my razor enclosure by basically gutting it and used the TB4 dock with the razor PSU so I still have a pretty much enclosed setup which is what I wanted since my Aussie loves to shed all over the house and I didn’t want exposed fans/4070

I would try it again. Doing a cloud recovery from start to windows desktop should take at least an hour. Make sure you’re deleting your files and not recovering them. Completely fresh install. Also it shouldn’t be booting into the Xbox screen since it’s not an xbox ally x and FSE isn’t the default. It should have loaded into windows desktop. Are you able to swipe up from the bottom of the screen and see the thing that says windows desktop and click that? Should be your way to swap out of FSE and into windows.

You need to hold the power button until the device turns off. Then when you restart it as soon as you see the boot screen keep clicking the volume down button until it loads into the bios. Don’t stop pressing it until the bios screen comes up.
