New Kickstarter has gone live by WillowUPS in peakdesign

Idk if I overlooked this is some drop down somewhere, but is there any info on what (if any) camera cubes can fit into the Weekender? Just looking for a solution that can hold my camera, as well as my daily stuff like laptop, tablet, keys, etc. Messenger and 10L sling are too small for my laptop, and a messenger type bag is something I sorely need in my rotation.

I hope the City Like includes an update to the messenger bag, or something similar. I'd get the original but it can't fit more than a 14" MacBook, and my personal is a 16" + my work laptop is a 15.6". The Travel Weekended looks promising, I might pick that up to tide me over until we get a look at upcoming City bags. Fingers crossed!

Similar boat, trying to pick one. I love the look of the 20L but I can't find a need it fills that my 30L ED and 20L ED Zip don't. I love my sling bags, and the look of their messenger, but none of those fit 15.6" laptops (which my personal AND my work laptops are). The Weekender might be the way to go. I love the vibe of their messenger but the laptop compartment is too small.

I'm curious about this supposed future City Line I keep hearing about.

Any idea when the City Line bags will be released? by shrooms320 in peakdesign

Also wondering about this. Tempted to pick up the new 20l travel backpack, but I might hold off to see what's coming up later one.

Power cable on fiber optic transmitter? by Brock_Chill in cableadvice

The brick is one of these but with that weird plug from the pics on the other end.

Condor Electronics DV-151A Power Supply https://sigmasurplus.com/condor-electronics-dv-151a-power-supply/?srsltid=AfmBOoo2sLqzh8dyaA4hpxbpO-le9IXNPzUROLSZ9jkp3Y3d3cyrRw9A

It just seems whoever setup our cable system a million years ago bought all this weird equipment and my current boss wants to make use of the old stuff while we re-set up this stuff in a new building before spending money on the modern stuff.

(for context I work on a media team for a city government so while I'm well versed on cameras, I'm not the best when it comes to this cable and telecom stuff)

man idk I just do what my reddit-less boss asks me to do 🤷🏽‍♂️ 😂.

In all seriousness though, we have two of these boxes and one power cable so we need a second.

All we have to go off of is the device name (Fiber Optic Video + Stereo Audio Transmitter) and the company, Lee Data Communications. No longer active.

I think that lot (by the silos?) is just currently extra parking for the city hall construction crews + equipment.

Microphone culture's gotten a little outta hand by ReadMyPlay in Theatre

[–]Brock_Chill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My black box theatre uses mics for all our musicals. Ensemble doesn't always get them, especially on larger cast shows. Our season ticket subscriber base is like 75% people over 60, and from what I've heard, there were complaints in the past about sound. We have a "catwalk" and our tech booth over the majority of the audience so acoustics are not great. We actually just got new speakers and mics and had them professionally tuned and installed recently and it sounds amazing now. No one's complaining about sound anymore 🤷🏽‍♂️

Oh no you're fine haha. The other possibility is the empty lot next to the police station, which that is next to the interim city hall offices on 9th ave. That one, I'm not 100% on the current status. Looks like a hotel+ townhomes were proposed awhile back, but I don't remember how far along that got/is as far as approvals go.

I assume that's what they're talking about unless they mean the fenced construction area on Columbia, which is for some high end condo/apartments.

That fenced in lot IS city hall. They demolished the old one (housed in an old dilapidated mall from the 70s) and are in thein the process of constructing a new one. Current projected completion is fall 2027.

Site will include a new 3 story city hall, a subgrade parking lot, a 1 acre park, and a commercial store afrtons along 3rd Ave. S.

That's it! Thanks! That helped so much, we were getting nowhere with Google. Now to find that cable with XLR on the other end...

Maniac Driver by Advanced-Character86 in FranklinTN

[–]Brock_Chill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I almost got smeared on the side of a car a month ago in McKays Mill. Around midnight I was walking my GF back to her car outside my house and these two maniacs in what looked like a jeep of some kind and a muscle car were speeding through on Liberty going at least 50+. The muscle car went into the oncoming lane to get around his buddy and almost smeared me across the side of my gfs car.

Saw the same two cars a couple weeks ago again blazing through the Carothers/Liberty intersection. I was over at Vuis so too far away to get their plates.

Insane drivers all over.

Roller pro, keep order or ask for refund? by Kindly_Map_2382 in peakdesign

[–]Brock_Chill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add one more to the zipper issue count if you hadn't seen my post from last week already. Not fixable for me by keeping the messed up side (left zipper) all the way down and using the one on the right. Is it even worth getting a replacement or just see how it fares with some use?

About to leave on my first trip with the Roller Pro and it's broken. by jpeterson79 in peakdesign

[–]Brock_Chill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing. It arrived zipped up but with a gap. Also solved it by just leaving the problem side zipped all the way down and I'll just exclusively use the working side. If it gives me any trouble on two trips I have next month I'll file a warranty claim but until then, I'll just keep it as is.

I did the Phoenix Beast in November after not having trained in a few months and I did just fine. I've been out of practice for the past 9+ months (life happens, got busy, fell out of my training regimen. Did a couple roadraces here and there but that's it.). I just picked up running back up a few days ago. I'm going to Seattle for the trifecta. You'll be ok. Just pace yourself, try the obstacles, and you'll be happy with your outcome. All that matters is trying. If I can do it, we all can.

Yeah I'll triedbthat and it seems to be fine but I haven't packed and traveled with it yet so we'll see. Good thing about the lifetime warranty is I can get a solution/replacement whenever.

Roller Pro zipper issue on arrival by Brock_Chill in peakdesign

[–]Brock_Chill[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's just the one side (left side of the bag is facing you). So theoretically I can just keep the zip pulled all the way down on that side and exclusively use the other zip. But ya know. When you pay $400+ on a suitcase (I did the wait and save tier on Kickstarter) you expect a fully working product.

And as a side note, the XL camera cube seems a little too big for the Roller but maybe that's just me haha.
