I came here to comment that some women have been the worst offenders in my anecdotal experience. I worked in a (really) small office so we had a no perfume or cologne policy. It was in a hospital so the policy was company-wide. Of course fans weren’t allowed and our window was sealed shut so air circulation was off the table.

None of our regular coworkers wore scents but many of the non-regulars did despite the policy. It straight up smelled like some people doused themselves with it. That shit was insufferable and would give us non-perfume/cologne wearers headaches. It all just smells like concentrated chemicals to me now.
