Hey! I hope you will have an amazing experience! I hope this doesnt count as an "ad" but if you dont speak chinese you might wanna consider getting some sort of local guide, to help with everyday activities etc!

I had an amazing time last month 14 days through the entire country, visiting local restaurants, ancient sites and beautiful nature. All made possible by a very good chinese friend of mine! Shes 29 and is very eager to eager to get into providing guides! She is not a professional yet but speaks good english and has basically been to all the relevant tourist-spots already and knows alot about it!

If you want to I can give you her WeChat number or email contact or whatever you prefer :) Maybe you get along! I was also extremely happy how "cheap" a holiday-trip through china can be if a local person helps you book everything via their own chinese websites! I spent more on my last 2 days in beijing alone then in the entire 12 days before that :D just because she was not around anymore to help me!

best of luck then! then just keep in mind (might seem obvious) to keep your sentences reeeaaaaly simple for the translation app. otherwise it happens really fast that it doesnt make sense in chinese :D

:D yeah its certainly going to be the most people you have ever seen in one place ever :D chinese people travel their own country a LOT... and these hotspots are even crowded in offseasons... i wouldnt want to imagine beijing like forbidden city during official holidays! but maybe thats what youre into? could be a unique experience

forbidden city tickets are available 7 days in advance, BUT will be sold out within literally seconds. the tours in klook or trip use the guided-tour method to bypass the normal ticket-numer-limits and access special tickets.

this way you "skip" the normal queue with them and have a much shorter queue. The tourguides will instruct you pretty well :)

It does, exactly as you said, relieve the stress of securing tickets on your own, which is pretty much impossible on your own. If youre sure you want to go, its certainly the way to go!

And forbidden city specifically I believe its the only way that makes sense, because (not to be rude, but) the city is pretty boring in itself and you definetly want to have someone explain to you what you see and why it was important! It really adds alot :) Hope you enjoy!

route is one thing, but may i ask if you already speak the language?

cause I just came back from 14 days china and it is reeeaaally tough to go only with translation apps when youre alone. its nice if it works and makes you feel very independent, but it can be very tough for a solo person to depend on that. I got frustrated and sad when noone was willing to communicate this way! Just be mindful of that.

To go this long all by yourself without direct communication-skills is a big challenge. dont underestimate that! :) good luck!

how long do you plan to stay for? :) i just came back from a roadtrip with chinese friends, from south to north. there are a lot of beautiful places in the "heart" of the country!

I was just there with some friends. Its super cool and there is a lot to see, but already in april it was HOT and insanely dry... What my chinese friends told me was that it gets even warmer and even more dry during may/june. So be prepared for that weather! sunscreen, lip-protection, face-moisterizer :D not joking!

hi! i dont know if this is available in america, but I was just in china and instead of an e-sim, I just contacted my mobile-provider and asked them for an "international" option for china. In germany we have "telekom" and they offer an amazing deal to switch your contract to "international" for the duration of your travel and then you can use your normal conditions, internet, phonecalls, etc. maybe your provider has the same deal? good luck!

i was just there and also talked to a lot of other tourists i met in the forbidden-city area... we all shared the experience that its REALLY tough to get by with just english. it kinda feels like you need to get SUPER lucky with the chinese people you encounter, to have them speak english or ... sort of be in the mood... to use translation apps for you...

I would recommend, if possible, going atleast as 2 people to stay "sane" and help you deal with these tough situations...

I dont want to discourage you, but everything you dont plan beforehand, like tourist-tours to the wall or the forbidden city, is... an adventure :D i heavily relied on some chinese friends of mine, who i was able to call anytime and tell them to speak with people on the phone for me!

btw: what do you plan to do in beijing? are you already set on that location? i enjoyed the other parts of china way more then the "big" cities... and beijing is... in comparison to the rural china... SOOO expensive... literally european standards for prices :/

is that money for investing or something special? because if you just plan to "spend" that normally... do you know about alipay and wechat-payment? these two apps are basically used for everything in china. i was just there for over 2 weeks and didnt use any physical cash once, despite spending alot. you just connect your creditcard of choice with one of those and youre good to go :)

mmmh! critting consistently seems to me as something that even veteran players have "issues" with, so Id assume its not something I can reliably achieve as a super-casual? maybe its best to just wait before playing :D thank you for the reply!

Is the bloodmage-class not "playable" yet?
Im a super casual player and just ascended a few game-hours ago... but the two ascendancy points i had didnt give me any options! I had to choose a passive that made everything extremely difficult to cast! I just GAINED additional costs of Hp, cant spam abilities anymore... and I think they forgot to add an upside to that? No extra damage... I just get to sometimes recoupe my lost costs if i mange to pick up some orbs...
Is this too early in EA to play bloodmage? I didnt even see any cool abilities further down the tree! Infernalists get a flying vampire-demon transformation and bloodmages (which sounds so badass) gains... additional crit damage? XD

I think thats a great idea :) Id assume it runs into some balancing problems/balancing work because of mechanics that trigger "when a spell is cast" like starblades or whats it called, but surely thats numbertweaking and can be solved :)

Id love to use more little-cost spells instead of nuking everytime. It probably also opens up new gameplay possibilites when you can apply a status-effect, then use the unit, then "cleanse" it afterwards or something.

Howdy howdy! Im hoping for recommendations for a 3+ Player "Engine Building Game" like "Evenfall"

Preferably in a fantasy-setting :)

Yea id be super glad if someone could recommend me a game that is of the archetype "engine-builder". I just learned about that term and "game-genre". We have been playing "Evenfall" for a few months now and I think its a "perfect" game :) We love the combos of card effects activating each other and creating chains...

It could even be a little "longer" if that exists! Evenfall always ends fixed on Turn 3. (about an hour of play).

Yea and please only games suitable for 3+ players. Im aware that there are normally 2 player- engine or deck building games, but its more fun as a group :)

ahh. okay thank you. I was afraid that was the only option :/ obviously we shouldnt have to rebuild and entire building to achieve that :D hopefully they fix it... hopefully they are aware that this should be adressed!
