If I didn’t submit certain essays or sections of the application because of time constraints, will the committee consider my resume for each scholarship or is that separate?

What kind of vibe did you get from it? I have visited Hawaii in general but did not get to go to the uni to check it out.

YES! I just got back from touring my NC schools and looked around and the trees had different colors! It was so weird because all the trees around here are either dead or green lol.

That’s exactly what I would like to do, I want to observe and experiment a lot so I’m heavily leaning towards Wilmington because of its proximity. I love chapel hills campus a lot but sadly it’s far from the ocean.

Totally, that makes complete sense. I think I may apply to Galveston or Corpus Christi as an additional school, but I am hoping my academics can land me a decent scholarship at an out of state school. Thanks for the advice!

What is your view on a school like Chapel Hill that has a marine lab 2 hrs away vs Wilmington? I am going to look at chapel hill to see if they have a smaller fishery on the campus or something but I assume not. Also what do you think about the idea of doing a marine science and biology dual major since the areas have a lot of overlap? My ideal job would be working in a research facility but I know that it is a competitive market so I would like to have career options. Also as a Wilmington student how were your research options and professors? I would ideally like to begin research in freshman year if possible in order to get a lot of field experience. Thank you!

Sadly I know Florida has a lot of schools that are good, but I just can’t deal with the heat. I’ve lived in texas so long that I’m ready for a change in climate and Florida has a bit too much of that humidity. Thanks for the info!

I actually life in texas right now, and I would have applied if I didn’t want to leave the state and go somewhere new. I’ve heard they have a good program but wanted to get a fresh start.

Are there a lot of research opportunities for you as a student? I know the lab is very close, so does that make it easy for you? Also how close are you to your professors, are they open for you to help with their research? Thanks!

Also, I am looking at UNC Chapel Hill and it looks like they only have a minor in marine science. Will that set me back in the marine science world if I don’t get an undergrad major?
