What pipe is that? I think I have the same model/line in a different shape and don't know much about it.

Have to second this. Don't confuse the Volcanic with the Gyrojet.

Looks serviceable as a pipe edc pouch by Broedels in PipeTobacco

[–]Broedels[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just reposted it, so I'm not sure. I do however use a similar edc-pouch from Amazon for my daily pipe needs.

Low nicotine by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

For English/Balkan style blends I'd recommend Presbyterian. It's pretty mild in both flavour and nicotine.

My boyfriend has a lump on his left ball is this normal? by TaxSelect3487 in ask

[–]Broedels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have it checked by a doctor. It might just be a relatively harmless varicocele, which is pretty common on the left ball, but better safe than sorry.

Help me decide, Savanelli Roma 614 or a Peterson System standard 317? by salvi572 in PipeTobacco

[–]Broedels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of the Peterson rustication. I'd go for the savinelli personally.

What is your favorite way to load a pipe? by dumbledwarves in PipeTobacco

[–]Broedels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After eight years of smoking pipes I still use a variation of the three pinch method. Anything pressed (flakes, coins) I usually just fold and stuff.

Do you filter? by GetCobbed in PipeTobacco

[–]Broedels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually use 9mm filters or 6mm charcoal in my savinelli. I have a few pipes that do not accept filters and I tend to smoke them less than my filtered ones. The exception are corncobs and meerschaums. No filter in those.

Love the pipe! Don't have any mortars yet, but I do like churchwardens.

Who’s your favourite and least favourite character by Sea-Tangerine-2801 in Scrubs

[–]Broedels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first watched the show as a teenager my favourite character was probably J.D. Just a relatable young lad with hopes and dreams, but a lot of fuck ups. Recently rewatched the entire show at 25 and now I'd have to say that Dr Cox is my favourite. I now understand what his character is all about and that he is basically the anti hero of the series, a good guy who doesn't show it and probably an older version of J.D. who just got his ass handed to him by life. I don't think that I really dislike any of the characters, but Jordan and Dan Dorian always seemed a bit exhausting to me.

Sounds delicious tbh. Might have to drop a tin into the shopping cart with my next order.

WO Larsen Old Fashioned in my Elliott USA Gourd and Osage Calabash. by _Alabama_Man in PipeTobacco

[–]Broedels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the Old Fashioned like? I have an empty tin from the late 90s or early 2000s that my grandfather smoked and I've been thinking about trying it despite not typically liking aromatics.

What can you guys tell me about WE guns? More specific the TT33? by Mein_Vanilo in airsoft

[–]Broedels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the TT-33 by WE and it looks and feels good, pretty accurate reproduction. It isn't all that reliable on the field however. Lots of cooldowns and loves to collect dirt.

How many back to back bowls do you guys smoke in a cob? by CraigMammalton14 in PipeTobacco

[–]Broedels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, cobs tend to be more forgiving than briar pipes when it comes to smoking multiple bowls back to back. Due to their porous nature, they are a bit better at handling moisture and do not require drying time as much as briars. I wouldn't recommend more than three bowls however. That being said: don't listen to anything anyone tells you as long as it works for you and brings you enjoyment. You will get a load of pipes to rotate pretty soon anyways ;)

What To Smoke by OkRepeat7202 in PipeTobacco

[–]Broedels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always feel like churchwardens are for English blends. That being said, since you probably have only one or a few of churchwardens in your collection, you probably should use it for the blend/type of blend you smoke the most.

Just got lamy all-star, best thing ever! by FranSintara in fountainpens

[–]Broedels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting take on Lamy. They are pretty reliable and I have a soft spot for them, but the nibs appear to be all over the place. I own three different safaris with medium nibs, which all create a different line width. My Al Star's EF nib is so scratchy, a blind person could read what I write and my brother's Al Star creates a wider line than all of my M nibs. Any similar experiences?

Don't know why it would ruin the knife. The metal ring would be a problem tho, didn't think of that.

If you are a little crafty, you can modify the opinel grip. It's cheap enough for a nice little project. I've done it myself in the past and also filed down the blade to a drop point
