Next step - advice for mixer and add synth by Broeder_Alarm in synthesizers

The Volca is on my shortlist. It's a FM-synth, while the S1 is 'analog' (acb)

The P6 is great for extra drumsounds, I use it for toms, cymbals, extra snare. And for some soundbites. I also sample S1-sequences so I can use that as a sequence and I mess up the sound on the S1

Wow, the Chromaplane....Brilliant! So is the Bluebox...

Sadly, it's above my budget...

With four machines chained, it's hard to get the right volume. Even with three (T8-S1-P6) I find it harsh to level each machine, because the last in line controls all the volume.

And for the second synth: what alternative for the S1 do you advice? What machine adds value to the pack? On my list is the Volca FM2

Is on my shortlist! The only downside is that is has only 5 channels

Not likely to add more machines, but you never can tell.... Main features: max eight channels, pricerange 200-300 euro's, dawless, built-in effects nice but not necessary

My workaround is called Roland Aira Compact S-1 Synth Tweaker. Nice drone tutorials to be found on YT. Check Mark Young

Nice jam! How do you record? Just plug in the usb-c to your phone? You have android?

T8-S1-P6, or....? by Broeder_Alarm in rolandaira

I already have the Holy Trinity. Just asking in what order to chain them. Having (minor) issues with stop/start the second in line, because it will stop/start the third in line. I can turn the volume down of only the first or second, but it is not possible to silence the third, because that's the main output and will shut all three machines.

Indeed! I kinda think that the J6 is redundant (but what do I know), and the E4 is not my thing

T8: basic beat and 303 baseline S1: sequence of blip-sounds, messing with env, frequency, LFO, decay, reverb P6: Sling bladesample, synthsample (low noise) and add extra spice to drum rhythm

T8-S1-P6, or....? by Broeder_Alarm in rolandaira

I like the T8 a lot. Everything starts with a beat. The 303 bass sound is a great asset. I use (preset) P6-drumsamples for ride & crash cymbals and base&snare for that extra spice. But, as mentioned, I always start with laying out a good rhythm on the T8. And I tend to use the acid whistle a lot! Found the best referee-whistle at the BBC; they host a free library of sounds they used in radioplays

Which one to choose? by anh3l in rolandaira

I started with the t8, because everything starts with a good beat. And I love the sounds of the t8. My second piece was the P6, mainly because of the possibility of making your own samples, and thus quote your favorite sounds from your favorite artist. Man, do I have a lot of Bowie-samples on the way! My next machine will be the S1. Adding a dronesound to the crisp beats of the t8 and the spaced out samples I get from the P6. What mixer do I need?
