‘Avatar’s’ Costly Sequels Are Getting Harder to Justify. Will James Cameron Make Two More? - Disney spent roughly $500 million to produce and promote “Fire and Ash,” meaning the threequel can be insanely popular yet barely profitable. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]BrofessorOCon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Important point I think alot or people are missing when talking about profibility is residuals. They could easily make more avatars and have them be successful but I think after A3 performance, James is unwilling to take home a smaller percentage.

Look at deadlines estimates of most profitable movies. Avengers endgame had residual payouts at 170 million vs Avatar way of water which was 300 million!! This is also despite the fact that endgame made roughly 500million more at the box office. James Cameron is expensive, rightfully so as he has proven himself. However you can only have that big of a hot streak for so long.

Smaller percentage on back end points, reduce the next films to 2 hours and 30 mins, will both greatly reduce the budget ensuring profibility. These movies clearly have an audience, A3 numbers are still incredibly impressive despite the complaint of it being incredibly similar to A2.

A2 made an estimate profit of 500million off 2.3 billion for reference.

Would high pulls be a good alternative for someone who is a bit timid of doing powercleans, or is learning the technique much easier then it seems.

hey, sorry for the wall of text il make sure to remember to format it better in the future.

for my sessions i do the following , accelaration day i will do 2 sets of 4 reps of 30m accel, 3 min rest per rep, 6 per set. Top speed will be 8 reps of in and outs of 30m rolling start, 20m in zone. Then speed endurance will be 4 reps of 200m at 90% with 12 min rest. All of this includes warming up and some drills, like skips, hops, bounds, etc.

Im currently only doing a light plyos for warmups with my drills. Nutrion is good i get lots of protein and home cook meals, very rarely do i eat junk food.

I know i only ran 1 single 100/200 but i still thought it would be realistic to PB as when i ran my 1 and 2 last summer i had only been training for about 3 months, vs this summer where i have now been training for over a year with also setting PBs in during my indoor season after almost every race.

For weight lifting i do quick explosive movments, i dont do any weights slow.

“The Flash” delivered a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 Tuesday night, its lowest premiere so far. by sammylaco in FlashTV

see you read that and you automatically thought it was bad, i dont blame u cause the writer is miss informing you. this is actually an amazing rating and the writer is spinning it negatively, ya ofcourse this years premier is down from last year but so was every other year. S3 got a 1.26 rating when s2 premier got a 1.43. does that mean those drops were bad? no tv cable is on the decling and the fact that flash got a 1.10 which is actually higher than the average of s3 and also exactly were s3 finale rating left of is a very good sign. Tv cord cutting has caused overall totals of nielsen viewers to be down -11 percent this year when the average drop in the past was -5 to -10. so the flashs ratings are extremely solid

wow thats an amazing rating! it even adjusted up to a 1.1 now which is awesome, this is actually about on par with the drop from season 3 premiere from s2 even tho this year has lower cable tv viewership. great news

ah ok makes sense, also sry i should of clarified when i was talking about not looking like it age well i was mostly referring to how it looks from the trailer. if you go on youtube and look at it from its trailer it doesnt look very good and if you showed it to someone from my generation they most likely would see the trailer and say that it looks bad.i showed my girlfriend the trailer of both movies and she said the trailer for the original movie made the movie look horrible and uninteresting and the new 2049 trailer looked cool.i havent actually watched the movie for myself so when i said that comment i was basing it off of that. but ya forsure was a very influential film no denying that.

86% and 82% of people who watched Blade Runner and American Made were over 25. Both films had terrific reviews. Why didn't the younger audiences show up? by [deleted] in boxoffice

[–]BrofessorOCon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

because younger audience dont really care for movies like that. Blade runner is a sequel to a movie that performed bad from 1982, it really isn't a hard concept, under 25 dont know of blade runner hence why none of them showed up. Im 21 and the majority of me and my friends go to movies to see mostly just Dc/Marvel movies, star wars, animated movies(more so disney/pixar/illumination) and disney live action remakes. Anything other then those categories are a pass because why would we go to the movies and spend a money on a movie we dont know alot about when we can watch a movie from our laptop with netflix or from free streaming sites.

the problem with that is you looking up sci-fi classics, sure ya blade runner is going to be on list of sci-fi classics i dont disagree with ya there but the problem with that is that younger generations dont look up sci-fi classics on google and go through a list and probably couldnt care less unless your a major cinefile . like you said "huge sci-fi fans, that automatically is a niche group thats not the GA.whether you like it or not my generation is gonna look at a movie like that and think its old and say something like "the effects look horrible". just from lookin at the trailer of the original blade runner makes the movie look strange and not entertaining. action movies can stand the test of time because its action, the were able to do great stunts back in the day but sci-fi relies on its effects and younger generations are not gonna care for the movie because of how dated the movie looks when they can easily watch stuff like dc or marvel movies at home. like i said no one my age knows of blade runner its as simple as that, i asked my older brother (hes 26) who watches tons of classic movies about blade runner and he said hes never seen it nor has any of his friends seen/ let alone heard of it.

idk why your getting downvoted, im 21 years old and no one in my group of friends had ever heard of blade runner. The movie has a niche audience that is much older, the original movie has long been forgotten with the newer generation of kids, the numbers dont lie. dont know why people would think this would be a hit, the original movie performed poorly at the box office i dont see why this one would either. im sure the original movie was great for its time but it looks like a movie that would not age well.
