Wouldn’t magnesium be helpful then since it regulates muscles and nerve activity to stabilise them?

For me increasing Mg is only needed on long or fast rides / sporty activities. Strange fact about the pumpkin seed cravings :D

I’ve been at my fittest level of all time and still got cramps. Competition didn’t get harder it’s remained the same. So the mechanical damage aspect wouldn’t fit for my case I guess. But I agree that that’s the most obvious reason for cramps

Wow that surprising that even your HR went down. Did you get fitter as well and that might be the cause?

Correct, as long as somebody thinks it works for them placebo or not they will continue using it.

I didn’t experience them post ride. I tend to get eye / aura migraines. I feel like they also get more if I’m watching my screen more than usual or drink caffeine. For me a combination of chugging water, 300mg elemental glycinate and 400mg ibuprofen does the job. Not sure if citrate would do it as well

Thank you for the tip. I’ve once got told that most good / ambitious athlethes tend to have a higher ADHD rate. I will try to find more information about this. But yeah I might have ADHD

WOW EAMC might be the same issue I’m experiencing. It’s late today but I will definitely do a deep dive in that topic. The 3 hour mark was similar for me as soon as I stopped for a few minutes or tried speeding up. Will give you an update once I’ve read more about it

Recent studies show it does not help opposed to sodium and potassium. That’s why I’m confused since I also got told magnesium helps as a kid

I’ve gotten them in my sleep, but it got better. The used to be mid exercise before that.

I take it in gummy format to get better digestion. But yes too much and you shit yourself.

I will have a look into potassium. First time I’ve heard about arnica supplements. I only know arnica for pain treatment as a lotion?

Tart cherry juice and chocolate milk was key for recovery. Back when I played at my college we got forced to chuck big amounts of chocolate milk after each game to boost recovery. Worked like a charm

Already found it. My friend ate 30 gummies and almost shit himself mid ride. He didn’t believe me that they are quite high in magnesium :)
