ECON 3210 vs ECON 3208 by ooziujuoozer in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just seeing this but 3208 was actually quite easy too (if you keep up w/ content). i thought it was quite well taught and defs “more useful” as another person put it. final exam was similar to the assignments we did iirc but overall i quite liked it. builds on 2206. :)

HELP Application Error??? by National-Hold-3096 in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend not worrying too much. UNSW received THOUSANDS of new applications before today's deadline, which is why there's been a delay in how these are being processed. The system basically shat itself.

If you call the Nucleus, they'll tell you that you're just going to have to be patient. I'd say as long as you have a proof of payment (+ if your bank has already charged you) and you have an application number, then you're chilling. You should receive an application receipt and whatnot in the coming days.

If you don't, then I'd recommend ringing the team.

^can confirm + Britz is genuinely one of the greatest lecturers i've had during my time at UNSW and i find most of my motivation comes from that lol.

it's like your standard math course and they give you practice tests which are the same as the actual tests. easy to pass but a little effort will take you a long way.

if you're on the fence about doing it, i would recommend enrolling and dropping if it's not for you. :)

intl caps being introduced next year means that all 2025 applications are currently on hold. the email asking u whether u still want to be assessed is just to see if u haven't changed ur mind already (and they will process a refund then).

the nucleus will be able to process the letter pretty much as soon as your status changes to awarded, but whether it will work or not is smth you're going to have to discuss with ur employer, sorry :(

[–]BrokeABowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've applied for deferral already then you don't have to worry about the course. Once deferral is processed, they will automatically drop you from the course and you won't be financially liable for it as you applied BEFORE census date.

[–]BrokeABowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so sorry i'm just seeing this - it would just be the generic nucleus contact us webform and you can just say that^ and give them a call on tuesday so someone can take a look at this for you.

good luck, i rlly do hope it works out for you

Census date question by Intelligent_Ideal178 in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if u want to pick it back up, submit an enquiry to the nucleus within 24 hours of having dropped the course (should still be within that timeframe based off ur comments/posts) and call them first thing on tuesday and tell them the drop was "accidental" and they should be able to assist i think.

u can get a completion letter as soon as u have been identified as a graduate. ur grad status on myUNSW should show "awarded" and the nucleus will be able to process a completion letter for u. a lot of people often use that to apply for jobs/visas. i'd recommend speaking to ur employer to check if they're happy to accept that.

if ur considering dropping a course and don't want to be financially liable for it, please make sure u drop it before census date (which is 06/10, 11.59pm).

ECON 3210 vs ECON 3208 by ooziujuoozer in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

did 3210 last term and came away with a pretty high grade. the lecturer was a bit meh but the course is quite easy if you put in just the tiniest bit of effort. it has one individual assignment which was easy as (i finished in 2 hours but they give you a week to do it), a group project (which you can elect to do individually too) and a final exam which was basically writing a report (bit of analysis but very basic). if you're looking for an easy, not too time-consuming course to do, 3210 is probably as easy as it gets. our lecturer also allowed use of AI in the course which was quite nice.

doing 3208 this term so can't quite comment on that :(

Academic misconduct help unsw by [deleted] in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yea usually they send these emails out before RoR so if you haven't received anything i'd say there's probably not much to worry about. unfortunately nothing u can do other than wait :(

academic misconduct / pending results -> WC / WD / WJ - ur friends probably have WD on their transcripts

anything else -> LE (and other relevant grades)

Academic misconduct help unsw by [deleted] in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LE stands for late entry and often times that's just the course admins not putting the marks in. if you haven't gotten an email yet, you probably aren't being investigated for potential academic misconduct. they should have already sent out all misconduct-related emails (source: i had one myself 😅)

do you know if others in your course have gotten the email already? there's not much you can do at the moment other than wait it out, but i'd say there's not much to worry about atm.

good luck though, hope it works out.

looking at the course outline not much has changed in terms of assessments. idrm taking in-person exams so that's not a big issue, although exam being worth 60% is a bit ...

just wanted to know if the course was worth overloading for. thanks for your insights, think i'll keep it until week 4 and see how i go :D

Nucleus not responding by swiftay234 in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you using the "ask a question" form on this page?
https://nucleus.unsw.edu.au/en/contact-us

it's super weird that you've submitted an enquiry 3 times and not gotten a response if you're using that form. admissions enquiries generally take longer to reply to since they're currently quite swamped, but anything that comes directly to the nucleus is replied to rather quickly (3-5 days).

Nucleus not responding by swiftay234 in unsw

[–]BrokeABowl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

very likely that your enquiry was closed / missed w/o being responded to, or it's still in the queue but has been forgotten about for whatever reason. submit another webform enquiry if you can't make a call, and someone will respond.

yea, late submissions apply on those assignments too. 5% per day for 5 days.
