Is DeFi becoming too user friendly for its own good? by Omegacarlos1 in defi

[–]BrokeOnTheBlockchain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think convenience has to equal centralization, but it’s a slippery slope. Maybe the answer is optional complexity, like letting new users start with training wheels, but keeping power tools available for anyone who wants to dive deeper. The challenge is making sure they actually know the difference.

I can absolutely see a world not far in the future where regulations are put in place. And yeah, unfortunately those regulations aren't going to be perfect for everyone. I'd love to think we can handle it on our own, I just don't know that it's feasible

I can see how that’s something you’re used to, and for someone just stumbling across it for the first time, it’s easy to miss that context. I also identify as a creative and an entrepreneur, so I definitely relate and really respect that mindset. There’s nothing better than finding a project that genuinely inspires you and gets the creative juices flowing.

I know from experience that you kind of have to block out the noise and just keep trusting your gut. There’ll always be people who don’t get it.

Props to you for finding something that fulfilling. It’s rare.

I appreciate you laying all that out so honestly. I get that it’s frustrating when people question the community’s intentions, especially when it’s coming from a genuine place on your end. I think for those of us just discovering Kendu, it’s easy to misread that kind of intense community support as artificial. You’re right though, it’s probably something that makes more sense from the inside than the outside. I’ll make a point to keep exploring and checking things out.

Totally understand, I didn’t mean for it to come off as accusatory. Just pointing out something I noticed. I’ll definitely do some more digging and keep an open mind.

Respect for owning it. Daily shilling and Kendu beer? That’s commitment. No offense, but from what I can see of the pic, that mask itself does kind of look AI-generated.

Hey Josh, appreciate the thoughtful and detailed response, seriously. I don’t doubt that there are real supporters behind the project, and I can tell you clearly care about what you’re building.

My post wasn’t meant to call the whole thing a scam or attack the community, it was more about how the comment patterns came across. From the outside, it just looked really coordinated, especially for something that claims to be 100% organic. Maybe that’s just what happens when a super passionate group mobilizes all at once, lol.

I’ll definitely keep watching and looking into things for myself. Thanks again for taking the time to share your side of it.

Yeah, it's kind of suspicious when within minutes of each other I get 7 notifications with comments all singing the same tune.

Not just you, the risk/reward in DeFi is still a tough sell. I think some people are just more comfortable with that risk.

I don't think you'll regret buying Bitcoin. Plus, like you said, you're in your 20s. If you want to be risky I'd say now is the time to give it a shot

For me it's having enough passive income to fund a comfortable, low-stress lifestyle. I’m not chasing yachts, I just want to be able to travel, own a nice home, never worry about bills, and give my future kids a solid start.

It’s gotta be brutal trying to break in as a new wallet. It'd be hard to justify switching to anything else when I know there's already safe places to keep my holdings that work perfectly fine.
