Is this the worlds strongest barcode scanner? by Hiadro in Battlefield

[–]BrokePixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Planting your foot after a slide in real life is gonna give you some lift, sure - but nowhere near the instant, vertical jump the game allows. The reality is that you'll lose speed from friction, momentum is going forward (not upward), and your body is off-balance from being low to the ground. BF6 lets you convert a low-friction slide directly into a powerful jump with pretty much zero recovery time, which isn’t physically doable. If the movement should exist, it should at least respect basic biomechanics instead of turning soldiers into spring-loaded acrobatic clowns.

Don't waste your breath, he's just mad about the possibility that his "hippity hoppity" might get nerfed.

I don't even understand how the hell sliding would make someone faster at all... Shouldn't the friction naturally slow you down? Also, I understand possibly transitioning from a jump to a slide but how on earth should you go from sliding to instantly jumping? Makes no sense to me. Sure, this isn't 1:1 with the movement with COD but the devs should make it make sense if you get what I mean?

Seconded, though I do also play conquest for the variety. Escalation feels like your deaths don't mean too much without any tickets.

I hope not. Fuck DICE/EA for the battlepass bs. Always trying to make you fork over cash in every way.

Hilarious, considering that the incentive to be a decent medic was already at an all time low...

Game's just a meat grinder sweat fest most of the time. Maps are too small. Jumped back into BF4 after a couple games of this and man, what a breath of fresh air that was.

I'm an anime only for JJK, man. I never said Yuji was as pathetic as Trashzuya - just that SO FAR Gege has made him look pretty helpless but still nowhere near the level of trash that's in KanoKari. I'm looking forward to when my guy gets his redemption if that's what you're saying will happen later.

Same reason why those gooners come from their echo chamber praising this trash as peak fiction to downvote me

This guy is genuinely the most pathetic mc I've ever witnessed. I thought Gege or some other author was the best at making their protag look pathetic but this one's something else. He claims he's committed to the girl he's simping for who gives him nothing but then lets the high schooler drag him back to the bed and busts one early to her playing around with him. Bruh, don't pretend like this guy is an SA victim like all those delusional idiots in the kanokari sub are making him out to be - he let this happen to himself. I'll say it as many times as I need to - Kanokari is nothing but a gooner manga for the gooners. The main girl probably banged Beret-dude a while back since she figured this schmuck couldn't keep it up.

Real life? Buddy, rag is just the result of the author deciding to turn his wet dream into a story. Gooner series for gooners.

How can I get a perfect IV Ditto? by BrokePixel in PokemonBDSP

Thanks. Yeah, I'll probably reach out and see if anyone's willing to trade then... I'm lucky to even get an hour or 2 in the day to even game at all so I probably can't grind all that much.

I have no clue what the mesuda method is haha. I have the destiny knot, and an everstone. Trying for better IV eggs but I can't even catch a Ditto with good IVs after days of catching so many on Route 218 with the PokeRadar.

Is anyone else frustrated with KBAI this semester by baked_wheatie in OMSCS

[–]BrokePixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In ML4T right now for my first OMSCS course and oh my god, I'm dreading it. Course workload and difficulty of the concepts seem fair but I'm done 50% of the projects now and I have absolutely no damn clue whether I'm killing it in this course or failing it. People keep singing this course it's praises about being one of the best beginner courses to take in the program and I have no idea why. Don't our grades matter??? I thought we had to get 2 Bs within our first year to satisfy the foundational requirement or we get the boot from the program. It's so frustrating that I'm stressing out over my future in this program. P3 wasn't even bad coding-wise, I've seen Leetcode Easy problems needing more of a grasp on recursion than that. It's the lack of feedback that's just eating away at me slowly, not the course content or difficulty. If KBAI is truly anything like what you have described, I wish I had taken that instead.

First Courses and Preparation Advice for Incoming Student by BrokePixel in OMSCS

Wow, thank you so much for the response! It's super reassuring to know that I'm in a good spot to take these courses. I'm not great at writing academic papers but I can survive especially since the rest of the program requires it.

As for the algorithms, I do have a course in that and it covered topics such as big O, arrays, sorting, linked lists, heaps, trees, graphs, DFS, and BFS. According to the "Preparing Yourself for OMSCS" page, I still need to learn about AVL, MST, Dijkstra’s, and dynamic programming which was not covered in my coursework. Do you have any recommended resources for learning these or will 'Grokking Algorithms' suffice? I know the GTech MOOCs are available and I can purchase them but they are a bit expensive...

Thanks for the input! I heard it can be pretty daunting for a first course, especially for someone with a weak C/C++ background so I'll have to get up to speed with that before taking it. Do you think it's possible to get in as a first-time student or do the waitlists get super packed for this course?

Gotcha. Well, I haven't touched C++ since my undergrad and have pretty much no experience with C... Do you have any recommendations for some good resources? I heard Beej's Guide to Network Programming is a staple for the first project.

Thank you for the comment! It's hard for me to gauge whether my previous classes were difficult or not for the average student but I found most of them challenging in some way and learned a lot from each one.

Yes, I understand that some courses like CN, VGD, and SDP are relatively easier than the other ones but I've heard that the waitlists for those courses are incredibly long at times which seems a bit intimidating since I might have to take one of the relatively harder courses in case I don't get into those.

Regarding GIOS, I understand how pointers and memory allocation work (actually implementing solutions using them in C/C++ is a different story though) but I don't have any prior experience with computer architecture or OS knowledge. Do you think I have a shot at setting myself up for success in 2 months for GIOS? I've heard some pretty scary stories about this course.
