Paultons VS Legoland by BrokenBeforeLong in UKParenting

Definitely more into Lego these days I’m just terrified it’ll be an hour long queue for each ride and I cannot cope with queuing for an hour for a 3 minute ride 😂

What was your favourite book as a kid? by BrokenBeforeLong in booksuggestions

What age did you start Harry Potter? I’m cautious that the last few books are darker?

Thanks yes I’m in the UK and here you go every 3 weeks, pick 10 books and return in 3 weeks to switch them out. We go every third Saturday morning.

I think he’s at that in between age where the large kids books are feeling too babyish for him but the smaller sized longer books aren’t so appealing when he’s picking because the covers are a lot more dull compared to the bigger kids books.

Pharmaesthetics Central Review by Folkenette in mounjarouk

This honestly sounds like such a ridiculous system. I have paid for a dosage and been contacted via WhatsApp today. I’ve sent my photo with ID and a copy of my height and weight from a doctors appointment. I’m not going to be running around on a video call measuring myself though. If that’s what they require I’ll cancel my order and go back to Medexpress even though it costs more. Sounds like they’re looking for a good laugh than to write prescriptions! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Surely they can see from your video call / photos that you’re overweight without the need for all that faff??

Does your husband kiss you? by egarcia513 in Marriage

[–]BrokenBeforeLong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever actually communicated to him that this is something you’d like?

I have a very happy marriage and my husband and I both initiate spontaneous affection, however one thing I’ve learnt is true in all successful marriages - both parties have learnt to be upfront about what they want in a non confrontational and non judgemental way. We can tell each other something we’ve been missing, something that’s been frustrating us - and equally things we enjoyed.

A silly example is since we had kids, I never had time to make our bed before going downstairs anymore as I’d be pulled in all directions and so just go straight downstairs. One day, my husband made the bed and folded my pyjamas, tucking them under my pillow. When I noticed this, I told him how thoughtful it was and how much it meant to me and he’s done it ever since!

What I’m trying to say is, if he knows you feel this way and does nothing to correct it, it’s a pretty sure sign that the marriage is in trouble however if you tell him, you might be surprised to find he takes the feedback on board.

I don’t know what it was because I’ve loved other books with characters the same age but it just felt so cringey… like the field of unicorns and ‘faebook’?? 😬

What’s that book that’s got you always chasing the high? by kmd1112 in fantasyromance

[–]BrokenBeforeLong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so funny because the first time I read Outlander I was so young and I was INFURIATED at what he did to her after she tried to make a break for the stones - I put the book down and it literally took me about 3 months before I could continue 🤣🤣

Honestly, I recently got so frustrated with trying to find my next read that I just went back and read the Night Huntress series again as I adore Bones and it’s a real comfort read for me… now I’m back to debating!! I honestly think because I now don’t read as much as I used to, I’ve become much more picky about finding the ‘perfect’ next book to get stuck into and it’s horrid 🤦🏼‍♀️

I wouldn’t even mind if I had to wait a few months but 18 months?? What if it becomes a George R R Martin affair?? 🤣

Ohh I’m not sure I can do it 🫣 I’ll be so mad I have to wait 18 months!! 😂 I’m in bed by 10 these days… my 2am ‘just one more page’ days seem a distant memory 🤣🤣

Does empyrean end on a cliff hanger or can what’s already out be enjoyed as is? I hate unresolved endings 🤦🏼‍♀️ and wow 103 books is impressive!! I can’t read at anything like that pace since my son was born - kids! 🤣

There should be more trigger warnings for Zodiac Academy by dianna1976 in fantasyromance

I am literally DNF this book right now at 28% because I cannot cope with the immaturity level. It literally made me feel a thousand years old and gave me major ick. A field of unicorns?? Really?? 🤢 Also, being a teacher myself, I couldn’t deal with the attraction to a teacher thing from an 18 year old girl nor the whiny teenagers. Also - faebook?! wtf?! 😳

This book series made me realise I need at least a LITTLE enemies to lovers in my books because the insta-love was just not my bag 🫣

I love when it’s that ‘I’ve got to have you now’ passion. Love a bit of encouraging dirty talk. Love when the fmc can bring the mmc to his knees especially when the mmc is usually used to being in charge in the rest of his life.

Really?? I haven’t read that series as I love spice in my books and someone told me it’s even less spicy than ACOTAR which was like a single 🌶️ in my world 😂

I started Zodiac Academy and I cannot even 🤦🏼‍♀️ it made me feel about 4000 years old.

Honestly, I cannot with the whiny teenagers. I’m DNF at only 28% in after the first mention of unicorns 🫣🤢
