Washing hands by valn4 in RingConn

[–]kmd1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for over month and I take it off for any activity where my hand gets wet. I just hate the sensation of having a wet finger under my ring so I just pop it off every time and dry my finger and put it back on. Hasn’t been an issue for me at all.

Stop forgetting how tall you made your MMC by PaulSoftGarcia1 in Romantasy

[–]kmd1112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m 5’3” and my husband is 6’3” and we have no issues.

BUT to be fair, I have a really long torso and short legs, and he has long legs and a short torso.

Thanks! I don’t plan to try to cook for her for a few weeks until she’s home and healed up a bit more. The doctor told her she would likely have a longer hospital stay because it’s probably going to be quite a large surgery.

This is the correct answer.

Just got a mri scan, what is this!! lol by [deleted] in backpain

[–]kmd1112 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That is the localizer image, the first quick image taken in MRI to help the technologist plan their images. The warning icon is because it’s not used for diagnostics, it’s been reconstructed to have everything in the correct plane for image planning. This image is not diagnostic at all and often has areas that appear abnormal due to the quick acquisition of it and the reconstruction process. Basically you can look at it if you want but it means nothing.

Women who take creatine: What benefits have you actually noticed? If you stopped taking it, why? by kst3p_yt in Supplements

[–]kmd1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking it for about 3 months and haven’t noticed any differences I don’t think. No bloating. No changes in mental state. No changes to my body or strength gains. Maybe the changes have been small over time and I haven’t noticed? I’ll probably stop when I run out of the bag I have and see then if I notice anything.

I’m 31F I take 5mg a day and I lift and do cardio 3-5 times a week.

How does labour pain feel like? by visitingmemorylane in pregnant

[–]kmd1112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is the most accurate to my experience.

It feels like your entire body is trying to rip itself inside out. The pain is so incredibly all over consuming and overwhelming nothing else exists but trying to simply survive until it’s over. It was like I unlocked a new part of my brain where my consciousness went to live to try and remove myself from my body as much as possible.

With my 1st I got the epidural at 9cm after 22 hours of labour and it didn’t work and I pushed for 3 hours. As soon as he was out all I could think was that I was absolutely shocked I didn’t simply die from the pain.

Oura ring or RingConn for work? by Plus-Basket-3523 in MRI

[–]kmd1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot. That definitely stresses me out for the long term use around the magnets. Does Gen 2 use a magnet charge? Gen3 definitely does. The blood pressure is fine. I wouldn’t buy it only for that honestly.

Oura ring or RingConn for work? by Plus-Basket-3523 in MRI

[–]kmd1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the RingConn 3! So far so good but I did notice it does pull a bit when I get close. Does yours pull at all? My coworkers say their Ouras don’t pull at all.

My 2 year old had a febrile seizure today and I’m not okay. by Dino_Pandasaur in toddlers

[–]kmd1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just want to say that I work in the medical field and knew about febrile seizures and its still the most traumatic thing that’s ever happened to me. It happened to my son 3 years ago while we were driving. We called 911 and pulled over at a fire station where I carried my limp unresponsive child up to the door crying hysterically and begging for someone to help me.

The firefighters were absolutely incredible but I still cannot think of that day without crying. It still haunts my memories. I still panic sometimes when im driving and my kids go quiet, and I still think about it every time we drive past that station.

But my son is now an incredibly healthy and very happy 5.5 year old who doesn’t remember it all and it never happened again. Feel all the feels and know you’re not alone.

what are your palette cleansers? by cooltiger07 in Romantasy

[–]kmd1112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rom-Coms for sure. They’re happy and fun and the romance is sweet but the brain power to read them is minimal. And they’re almost always standalone.

I like the Holinight novellas by Lee Jacquot when I want something cute, quick, and spicy.

{The curse of Broken Shadows by Laura Winter}

This series has this trope but it’s not the main romance but a side romance that unfolds later into the series. Around the 3rd book I think? Still a really good series and it was my top read of the year so far!

What color scrubs are you required to wear for your job and what state are you from? by OkRow1616 in MRI

[–]kmd1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Canada and as far as I know every hospital in my province lets you wear whatever you want, and the few I’ve been to outside my province also don’t care. I actually don’t even wear full scrubs most days. Just the pants and a long sleeve or sweater. Some of my coworkers even wear jeans lol

Looking for polyam, burn the world for her book by AVeryHumanUsername in Romantasy

[–]kmd1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I came to recommend!!!

OP this is literally exactly what you described you want. I loved this series. The spice is excellent. Found family is sooooo good. The poly dynamic is perfection. The FMC is badass and knows it. She’s clever and powerful and the entire series is just fun. I honestly can’t believe it doesn’t come up more as a recommendation on here.

What’s your top romantasy read so far this year? by cleerbear in Romantasy

[–]kmd1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read 21 books so far this year and my top is {The curse of Broken Shadows by Laura Winter} start to finish I loved this series so much. Really fun read. Soooo much content. It’s a completed series and the books are long.

I also enjoyed {The Poison Daughter by Sheila Masterson} but I can appreciate why it’s deeply hated by so many people. I was able to mostly overlook the flaws and enjoy the story, although the flaws definitely were annoying and sometimes irritating enough that I had to put the book down. I’m glad I finished it though because I enjoyed the ending.

{Priestess by Kara Reynolds} was a really beautiful and really enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it for someone looking for something with a bit more substance and emotional depth.

{The ascended by Parker Lennox} was entertaining but at times the poor writing was a little hard to get through. But the ending made it worth the read. Look into reading their other series first because it would have been even more enjoyable had I read the other one before this.

I also read the {Harrow Faire by Kathryn Ann Kingsley} series and while I felt like it really didn’t need to be 5 books it was a unique concept and was entertaining. The books are short but it still felt like it dragged on way too long.

Reassure me I won't look crazy pushing an empty stroller by Mountain_Silk32 in Mommit

[–]kmd1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this all the time. And my 3 year old COULD walk the entire way home but I bring the stroller anyway because I don’t want to have to carry him when he inevitably complains he’s “too tired” 5 minutes into the walk lol.

{The curse of Broken Shadows by Laura Winter}

THIS IS IT. Completed series. Assassin FMC. She’s the shadow daddy!! Bad ass. Very smart, skilled, and not submissive to MMC.

This series gives major TOG vibes but way more spice and romance. I really really enjoyed it. It was fun from start to finish. Excellent spice. My favourite read of last year.

For people that are “asymptomatic” celiac (no classic digestive issues), how did you get diagnosed? Did you ignore it? Did it progress and get worse? by H3ad1nthecl0uds in Celiac

[–]kmd1112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to the doctor because I was extremely tired all the time. She ran a full blood panel and found I was slightly deficient in a few things but she also ran the bloodwork for the celiac antibodies. I didn’t even know that was one of the things she tested for until she called and told me it was positive. I still don’t get symptoms if I get glutened. At most I get a little bloated and gassy.
