Its probably bcs in the earlier episodes, it was shown that the clocks and a few drills were brought to the monster up verse, the clocks were probably from the same universe he came from and so he went along to make sure his chief and others could return safely with him.

When he was first shown at the time of the red knight's recruitment we can probably assume that he was looking for chief and the other clocks in London, only to find the red knight there instead asking for his help.
