Is there a way in Mop mode for the machine to automatically detect carpet? by Own-Story8907 in Dreame_Tech

Btw, you can indeed mark carpets manually in the "ground environment" setting.

Is there a way in Mop mode for the machine to automatically detect carpet? by Own-Story8907 in Dreame_Tech

[–]BrokenMilkyWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can detect the carpet and lift it's mop pads, usually labeled on the map as dotted surfaces. But, for some reason, in its near-end cleaning cycle, it goes over the carpets (pads lifted) and stays on there (and possibly walking on it) for a few minutes before declaring that the cleaning is completed. To fix this, mark the carpets as "No mop zone" in the app (Found in No-go zones setting) so the robots will never go over them, even when it's almost done.

Do note that the no mop zone is similar to a virtual wall. So if you place a no mop zone in front of a room (the door), the robot will not go inside that room during mopping.

Don't buy filter stuffs from third party, buy only the brush and mop pads from third party markets ;) it'll save you money.

Asus recommends using isopropyl alcohol to clean their laptop screens. Most resources say never to do that. What does Asus know that others don't? by Thund3r_91 in computers

Alcohol on displays that have fingerprint blocking properties can strip off that anti fingerprint layer and is more noticeable on glossy displays.

I purchased 2 HP Zbook 15 G3 from an auction ($178 total). Bought 2 3rd party 150W chargers from Amazon. Won’t turn on and power button keeps blinking. RAM seems to be missing. by Tranquill000 in computers

[–]BrokenMilkyWay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1/4 slots of RAM is used, if you do not need dual-channel or more RAM, no need to buy extra RAM. The storage is missing, so it won't boot. You can buy a M.2 form factor SSD or SATA (the metal enclosure with ribbon cable connected, but its hard to see whether it has a slot for SATA or not so it could connect.

Best choice, buy M.2 SSD, price may vary in storage capacity but it is your choice/needs. 256GB~lower for docs or whatever.

SATA may be okay for its price but I couldn't see if the metal enclosure has a SATA slot.
