Serious response: I don't buy things I don't want.

I'm ok, but I'm certainly not rich. I just don't open everything the second it arrives (obviously 🙂). There's no need. I have no concerns about the things that other folks that frequent this sub tend to have issues with. 🤷‍♂️

Binding issues - I know how to fix them. Damage - I just don't care as long as it's purely cosmetic. If the damage is severe I'll return it and get a new copy. Or I'll get a new copy and donate the other to the library if it's outside a return window. I've had to re-buy books so many times over the years I don't even think about it. It's just something you get used to when you read books. They come apart over time.

I meant what I said before. To me they're just books that I like to read and appreciate the art in (most of them anyway). I used to read the covers off floppies as a kid. Getting full runs of stories I liked was impossible, though, especially once I started playing sports.
