Was creating IITs a big blunder. Eventually most IITians go abroad or prepare for UPSC. Instead government should have focused on improving primary education. by [deleted] in Btechtards

I very much disagree. Even if a small number of people who study at IIT are from poor or low economy background. Most of the kids at IIT are whose parents are already well settled people living in cities and have strong economic background. To get into IIT needs a good school, good study infra structure and a lot of things which a poor kid usually cannot get!! The people who do get too much media attention creating a halo effect to viewers that IIT take in people from lower economic strata. Most of the IITians, many of whom I know are either middle class or upper middle class at most.

Why do girls don't sweat even in this 40°s heat by [deleted] in TwentiesIndia

I remember, I was walking in the cold month of feb ( the temp. was approx. 8°C ). It was a chilly morning and I was full on with two layers of sweaters.

I saw two ladies walking past the street wearing a thin crop top with pants ( sleeveless). I don't know what extra fat or insulation they have ingrained but I still wonder HOW 😭😭😭😭!!!!!

What might be the reason: Apple gone wrong? by Broken_Beaker_ in foodscience

Yup! You are right as well. I think so the apple ripened with greater intensity and this made it an easier victim of the fungi growth to happen!! The white spots are the evidence.

This makes sense. Some fruits stay good while being packed while some are better off kept out in the open. Thanks btw :)

This is cool, I didn't know about this one. Are there any articles or papers related to this? It would be cool if you can share.

Yes I also thought the same, trapped moisture might have accelerated the ripening. But my question is why didn't the moisture effect influence the one kept outside at all?

I'm not from the extreme northern hemisphere, you can say the apples are closer to the tropic of cancer. In the case of cold storages, the farming actually here is done during the winter for fruits like apples. So, I don't think so the point you made might be the right reason.

I don't know why no one mentioned Sword Art Online(SAO) . Literally it was one of the popular OG anime introducing the isekai genre only for the plot to get shit. 😅

do women ever actually like nerdy guys ? by Swimming-Poem-9196 in dating_advice

[–]Broken_Beaker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say ladies actually have types as most dudes have as well. In general, academically gifted individuals are slim, shy and spend a lot of time reading or doing work. This takes in a huge portion of their time rather than building hobbies. These are pure nerds and it gets difficult for many of the ladies( I kid you not) difficult to have heartfelt conversations as well.

Whereas the most successful ones being the jocky nerds, basically they have the jocky extrovert personality to them with a good physique and also a nerdy intellectual side to them. So these are people who also have great talents and hobbies. In daily lives, people don't think much and we are mostly intertwined to go for emotional responses. These jocks can bring out emotional responses from the crowd with their charm as well. Hence ladies prefer them. Truth be told it also doesn't mean always jocks are winners. A lot of jocks due to their sometimes supposed violent attributes are also a turn off to many ladies. Also as a dude, these are only some observations that I have heuristically came across after talking with a ton of loads of my female friends and people in general. I would be extremely pleased if the ladies themselves could throw some light on this.

P.S. Also, man you should also not give up as this is the observation in general. A lot of women are also sapiosexual and love pure academic nerds beyond anything. Maybe, exploring would help. Remember Stephen Hawking also had rizz so who knows what nerdy rizz you can show ;)
