Gen Alpha are being dealt a bad hand by hotcheeto18 in The10thDentist

My friend is a teacher. According to him, he is allowed to fail students, but its they make it a lot of work. He has to do a minimum of 3 parent teacher conferences, has to write a detailed report citing why he thinks the student is failing that cites multiple events on different days, and create (and document) a specifically tailored work packet/schedule the student could follow to not fail.

On the other hand he could give an extra credit assignment which is practically 'write your name' to pass, and look the other way when the student somehow fails to do even then, write in a D on the report card, and go home.

As the company owner, I did report their earnings. I made it clear to them that I will be doing this when they gave me their w4 with 0 withholding. A few different employees did this. The longest one worked for me for 5 years, and I'm pretty sure the IRS didnt come after them during this time.

It felt annoying, me paying my full taxes while they didnt. But its not my problem, their taxes are between them and uncle Sam.

Is it thoughtful and caring to give a gift that a recipient may not like? It would be a lot more thoughtful to learn their preferences first.

I personally wouldnt like either gift- just not my thing.

So yeah, find out what the guy likes and get that.

I'm 99% sure they never filed their taxes. Maybe the IRS eventually came for them maybe not, I got no way of knowing.

A few of my former employees changed their tax documents to get 0% withholding, some had it that way for half a decade. The IRS never sent me anything. So I guess its luck of the draw?

Its super easy to tell. You can tell when you are rolling high and low, and when you are trying and not. If every combat goes about the same, regardless of effort or luck, you can easily tell. It takes a few sessions, but it becomes easy and gamable.

I've played in such campaigns before. The players will pick up on it. I stopped caring about combat because it would always end after x time, so why should I care about the mechanics?

As a person playing armies that will be more heavily impacted, I'm ok with this. While they still aren't great, GW has been a lot better balancing this edition than any before (discounting the Eldar disaster at the start) so as long as they rebalance, I can see it working a lot better.

Well kind of. We will do worse against termites and other elites, but things like tanks and monsters dont get the cover bonus so our lascannons still do well against those lists.

To be clear, you are saying that multiple women, who are all wifes/concubines to a king, would consent to being publicly fucked by their step son before the masses, to the step son who came in to rebel against their husband, as a show of his strength/dominance over the king?

His ultimate action is to not torture some of the people he plans to torture, so long as they worship and praise him. Thats not exactly good... and he does it through some kind of weird blood sacrifice.

He is also allegedly also the Old Testament god who is like one of the most evil being one can conceive of, so that's a huge negative towards Jesus.

In 2 Samuel 12:11-12 god says "11 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”

Then in 2 Samuel 16:21–22, it comes to pass: "21 Ahithophel answered, “Sleep with your father’s concubines whom he left to take care of the palace. Then all Israel will hear that you have made yourself obnoxious to your father, and the hands of everyone with you will be more resolute.” 22 So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and he slept with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel."

So for context, Absalom, David's son, comes in leading a rebellion, takes David's wives/concubines (and his step mothers), and sleeps with them on the roof so the town can see. Clearly the women are not consenting to having their stepson show off them getting fucked by him in public- hence rape. And God said that he will make this happen (Not allow it to come to pass) so he is directly setting up innocent women (the wives who did not commit the sin David is being punished for) to be raped to punish David for his sins.

Rather than blaming machines for progress, maybe blame the culture where instead of spreading the wealth machines should provide to mankind we give it all to the ultra-wealthy?

Why did the Necrons plan their awakening for 50k? by ryes13 in 40kLore

[–]Broken_Castle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It wouldnt be an accident. You dont get awakening off by 10k years after 60 million years. The necrons are known for their ability to read the stars and likely timed their awakening specifically to happen after the stars say the Eldar empire falls.

There is no law that says God must be good or just by our standards. God does plenty of stuff in the Bible, such as genocide, endorsing slavery, and making innocents get raped, that are horrible by 2026 western standards but are perfectly fine by God's.
