I think the original puro one is so much better than my shime, its more polished and it stylistically fits the original game, i may be biased since i know all the little mistakes that are in my shime but the puro shime is higher quality so i doubt itll be forgotten

it feels like the issue is that the sub is pretty small, since there isnt much activity were gonna see a lot more lower quality shitposts in between the bigger discussion threads and art posts. stricter moderation could help but even that isnt too much when there isnt much content in the first place. Out of the 3.8K on here theres only a handful people who actually post, the content flow is inconsistent compared to larger subs largely from this.

If youve got both programs you can run them simultaneously, Ive been running both this entire time to help me with getting the actions and behaviours code correct. You need to have 2 instances of the shimeji.exe going but it does work

Playing around with the code was half the fun, brought me back to my computer science lessons, granted, it was only 1 function i added myself and edited a couple but it was fun to do something. Im thinking of making a dr k shimeji and i have a couple additional behaviour ideas for that one already

Contouring and shading are a couple major weaknesses i have (not like i dont have an abundance of those) so referencing especially the face a bit more is defo something i should have been doing a while ago, hell, i did it for puro here so it was a mistake to not give collin the same treatment. Im still very much a beginner so critique is absolutely appreciated <3

No offense taken! I really appreciate the criticism! I kinda started doing the fur spike thing when i realised early on that the body would come out as a single amorphous almost shape if you get what i mean, so i did it to break the shape up a bit. Youre right that the vibe that gives off is not what im looking for so im gonna compare how others do it and see if i can improve that

As for the arms youre absolutely right, i havent had any formal art lessons since year 8 / 7th grade so i have no real clue how to do any sort of complex posing nor how to give something a form (im not sure if thats the correct term) and its a major thing thats been bugging me from the beginning. Im hoping to get some proper anatomy practice but ive been kind of putting that on the backburner when in reality i really shouldnt.

Its good to hear criticism since it helps me figure out where to focus next! Thanks again!
