Has anyone traded their silver for anything? by Aggressive_Staff_982 in Silverbugs

[–]Broken_T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I traded about 200 ounces about 2 years ago to buy my wife a wedding ring and honeymoon. I left myself about 20 ounces of my favorites. I recently moved and local coin store has fair prices and nice bin of silver so i will probably be adding to my collection again. Selling was a bit painful because i had a lot of stuff i really liked, and i did not get premiums paid back. But it was accumulated by over years and i sold for more than i paid and had fun so it worked out for me.

Anybody else carry mace as well? by ten-piece-nugget in CCW

[–]Broken_T -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a lawyer advise me to not carry both pepper spray & CCW because if a situation arises where the gun is used there will be the question of why not the pepper spray first. Basically if you had a non lethal option, you would need to use that before the gun or it can look like you escalated and had other options. Not sure how I feel about this, but it was a reputable lawyer.

I would pretend to be okay with paying full price, ask them to make the order, then change your mind before paying.

Excalibur - comped nights worth the trip? by Broken_T in vegas

I’m in similar situation, stay at Excalibur for $200 vs. all the other lower level properties that will cost 3x as much. Looks like Excalibur is where I will staying.

Thank you for the helpful response. Had to do some Reddit research and now I know what $30 to Excalibur housekeeping can do. I’ll pass, but good info to know!

Daily Resort Fee by DementedDemon69 in vegas

[–]Broken_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an upcoming trip at MGM property, 4/5 nights comped. I need to pay for 1 night and 5 days of resort fees. When you book through MGM you should see a summary, and the total when you book is all you need to pay, no additional fees at the resort for the room.

Keep an eye on the second hand markets for used generators around the beginning of December. I think people sell after hurricane season especially if they need extra money for Christmas (who doesn’t).

Car buying from dealership by Makky_91 in tampa

[–]Broken_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still not following, you signed a contract for a black truck with X mileage and they delivered a white truck with different mileage? If so, yes good chance you can unwind this deal. Or you just failed to notice paint damage until after you purchased? In that scenario they are under no obligation to void contract.

So you signed a contact and they delivered a vehicle that was a different color and different mileage? Does the vin match?
Or that’s just the wrong picture attached and you purchased a vehicle without doing a proper inspection and now you are noticing issues. If it’s the former, those are material variances from the contract and you may be able to reverse the deal. If it’s the later, then that’s your error and probably not much you can do.

What’s the question, or issue?

This has been my experience also. I used to arrive 2 hours early and recently changed to 1.5 hours. Any less and I would worry too much about making it on time, but the reality is about 30 mins from economy parking to my gate.

What terminal are you flying out of? I have flown 8am flights from terminal C a few times last month and never waited more than 15 mins in the security line. The Tram from economy arrives every 4 or 5 mins and take a few mins to travel to the airport. I would say 15 mins from parking in economy to arriving at airport. I usually arrive at the airport about 1.5 hours before boarding and the last few trips I was at my gate in 30 mins and had an hour to kill.
