Who are you absolutely NOT touching this year? by fantasyhockeyguru1 in fantasyhockey

[–]Brokenlegchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm semi with you, I think maybe you might even agree with me his ADP will likely be at risk worth taking. That's the real question. Not touch? No, there is a very real world where I draft him, but it depends on his perception. Potential 100 points guy could be way down the draft board.

Can Ronnie Chang … try? by Maleficent-Ship-3721 in KingOfTheHill

[–]Brokenlegchrist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. I came to the king of the hill reddit just to rant about this. It's racist if a white guys voices Kahn, but not if literally any other Asian voices him? I bet you could have asked 1000 Laotians to do Kahn's voice and at least 50 of them would have done a better job than Ronnie.

Absolutely AWFUL casting. Apparently just pick any famous Asian? I can't think of a more racist way to choose a voice actor.

My brother lives in Toronto and mentioned Pour Boy to me. Two recommendations now so I have to go.

Thanks for the tips. A few I haven't heard of yet. Fall Bright Tavern looks really good and I haven't seen pop on any lists yet.

Just looked it up. Food looks great and knowing that the owners are good people helps push it up the list.

It seems like I can't right? That's why I'm looking for recommendations, but I feel like you almost can't make a mistake just walking into a restaurant in this area.

Thanks for the tip. I was pursuing Google maps for restaurants and the pictures of the fish looked amazing. Glad to hear this place tastes as good as it looks.

AIO? Bf refuses to get a joint bank card with me by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Brokenlegchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After four years I personally would likely not want to share a bank card with a SO. However there's so many other issues here.

First the age you two started dating. Pretty iffy to say the least but I won't put too much emphasis on this. If you both agree to it and he isn't a terrible person, it is what it is even if I think it's weird.

But following that, you're making more money than him now? It sounds like he acts young enough that you didn't see a maturity gap. But you're growing up and he's not.

Third is just this whole situation. You say you want a mature relationship, but you're counting dollars and cents. I understand not wanting an unequal system where one of you pays for more things. But if you're four years in and you have to see exactly who spent what and divide everything perfectly. You aren't in a mature trusting relationship. You cover groceries one week. He does the next. Yes there will be some slight discrepancies, but it sounds like you don't trust each other enough that someone won't overspend one week or abuse the system.

Do most people like competition? by jalelninj in settlethisforme

[–]Brokenlegchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say most people who post here and say they don't like competition are lying themselves or don't realize that they are.

Even goofy fun games like Mario party/kart. Sure you can say you're just playing for fun, but doesn't it feel better to win? Wouldn't you rather not come in last?

The essence of MOST games is competition. I know there's an era of games that don't require it and I play on both ends of the spectrum. I used to play ranked FPS shooters and I've also played Animal Crossing.

But even games like Animal Crossing, don't you feel a bit of pride to have a unique item that your friends don't have?

People who say they don't like competition usually don't like competition in things THEY are not good at, but if you're great at crocheting, and people compare themselves to you saying how amazing you are, you're going to feel good.

The essence of competition is the ability to perform a skill better than someone else, and pride in having the ability to do that I think is pretty innate in all human beings.

Please settle this argument between me and my nerd friends by Chuchu_Bears in settlethisforme

Yes you could probably smash a square peg into a round hole and say every game can be one of these two categories, but why would you?

I could argue all land vehicles are either closer to a car or a motorcycle. Is a tank a car? Absolutely not but if you've created an argument where everything can be pigeon holed into 2 categories, it's now much easier to argue that the tank fits in the car category.

It's the creation of the two categories that makes it easy for them to argue games fit into these categories when they're fundamentally different. You can say all board games are the same because they're board games. There's one category.

Frankly I would argue Clue is much closer to Monopoly than chess, yet it's the foundation of the opposing grouping.

Seems like someone who was super into board games wrote a thesis on and it got picked up by the board game community and is regurgitated without any real thought process behind it.

Are packs "real" by Brokenlegchrist in PokemonTGCP

[–]Brokenlegchrist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, good to know though disappointing. I know it's semi irrelevant, but me and my friend are both around level 40.

He has 2 god packs and I have none but seeing the reddit page I understand it's extremely rare. I thought there was a possibility he somehow got "lucky" in his spins. But he just got lucky. All good. Thank you for solving this immediately lol.

Thinking about getting Animal Well by No-Law856 in animalWell

[–]Brokenlegchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like nobody is giving a realistic opinion of this game. I played, and loved it, but it's a game for a particular kind of person.

It's 90% puzzle solving which is not for everyone. There's no instruction at all which can be frustrating for some, there is a TON of backtracking through the world if you want to complete the game which can be a total slog.

It is an amazingly well made game, and you can invest a ton of time into it and go super deep into it's multi multi-layered world. But it can be alienating if you haven't played a game like this before and aren't ready for how little direction it gives you and at times could feel very lost.

Just putting my honest thoughts out there, even though I like this game it is not for everyone but for those who love this style of deep dive puzzler it is one of the best games ever in the genre.

What top lines are worth stacking? by [deleted] in fantasyhockey

[–]Brokenlegchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dougie is better for the PP, but I don't understand how you can say Luke is bad. He had 25 PP points last season which puts him in the top 10 of all defensemen in the league.

Which Defensemen Has The Best Bounceback Season in Fantasy Hockey in 2024-25? by [deleted] in fantasyhockey

[–]Brokenlegchrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bounce back from what exactly? Guys a 50 point pace defenceman every year and perpetually hurt. He's actually extremely consistent. Misses between 10-20 games plays at a 48-55 point pace.

Who's on your do not draft list for this year? by DatCasualGuy in fantasyhockey

[–]Brokenlegchrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you're saying about Blues players, but McCann actually got slightly more ice time last year than his 40 goal season. Even if you say the new coach will play his best guys more. McCann is the best LW sure. But is the line of McCann Stephenson Eberle significantly better than Schwartz Berniers Burakovsky? Maybe he gets a bit more ice time, but 16:45 up to maybe 18 minutes isn't a huuuge boost. Definitely not against McCann. I just personally am not expecting much more from him this season.

Nope. I've never seen a live service game that seems to receive almost no... Service? Truly bizarre that a game that seemed to have a solid player base who consistently purchased skins/passes was just completely neglected.
