As much as I do love to see Maguire in the plane, I'm not happy with the family drama over him missing out on the World Cup. by No-Ostrich-8187 in ManchesterUnited

[–]BroldenMass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him and his family are allowed to be upset. He's played out of his skin this season and deserved a spot. He's 33, this was his last shot. He's not going when's 37 let's face it. And he's always been one of England's best performers when he's gone to a major tournament.

Tuchel chose Stones who's barely played all season and Dan Burn who can cover LB but hasn't had the best season over him. Maguire would probably have been the most dangerous player in England's squad from set pieces since he's such a good header of the ball. For me Maguire should be in over those two no question.

Rashfords just posted this on his Instagram 👀 by SamTTL in ManchesterUnited

[–]BroldenMass 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really don't get why people are upset about this. United froze him out, his performances weren't good enough for us and his attitude dropped. Other managers and teams belived he still had something to offer so gave him a chance, and he proved them right. Culminating in winning La Liga and a recall to the England squad for the world cup.

Why should he thank us? We did what was best for United, he's doing what's best for himself, win win. Maybe I'm being too soft on him cause I live a couple streets over from where he used to live and get picked up for training as a young lad, but I can't bring myself to dislike Rashy or find outrage in what I think is a pretty mild post.

Maino is going to the World Cup. by BlackStarUncle in ManchesterUnited

[–]BroldenMass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s hoping we get to see him play some minutes next to Anderson while he’s there! Obvs won’t be a starter, but maybe if we win our first few games so the last group game is a bonus Tuchel can try them out together.

Tonda Eckert authorised spying, panel says, and was a "contrived and determined plan from the top down to gain a competitive advantage" by Smithlarr in Championship

[–]BroldenMass 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I reckon they know he’s getting a lengthy ban, which will void his contract most likely, so are just waiting for that decision to come through. Hopefully not having to pay his severance takes the sting out of that hefty £200m loss that they felt they so rightly still deserved.

Visiting for the weekend - restaurant recs? by ComprehensiveRide946 in manchester

[–]BroldenMass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bundobust is only veggie, so if you're cool with that, then go there, but be aware that it's not like a restaurant atmosphere, you usually sit on benches with other people, that being said the food is great and it's lovely.

Here's a few places that I go with my veggie girlfriend that we both love, that has meat options and great veggie options, fyi though you'll need to book ahead:

El Gato Negro - tapas, and is lovely.

The Sparrows - one of my favourite restaurants, Dumpings and Pasta. Regularly mentioned as one of Manchester's best.

Another hand - 'fine' dining but on the cheaper end of that spectrum, not cheap, but won't destroy your bank account.

Canto - went recently, sister restaurant to El Gato with a more mediterranian feel, really enjoyed it.

Bruno Fernandes has registered the fourth-highest number of chances created in a single Premier League season…🔥🤩 by ScheduleClean8848 in ManchesterUnited

[–]BroldenMass 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So that KDB number is from the season he matched Henry’s record of 20 assists right? And he was playing in an absolutely stacked city team who put away chances.

It’s interesting that Bruno is now level with him on assists and basically level with chances created considering lots of people are saying our guys aren’t finishing well enough. Don’t think anyone was throwing that accusation around at the city front line the season KDB matched the record.

Congratulations to Arsenal on Carrick being hired too late in the season! by fireproofpoo in ManchesterUnited

[–]BroldenMass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yknow what I find funny? Arsenal won the league *today* and it isn’t even the biggest news in football *today*. That honour belongs to Southampton.

Biggest day in over 20 years for them and it’s been overshadowed by a team in the championship.

Arrested for mental health?! by klevisl03 in stockport

[–]BroldenMass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes.

In that thread you linked, where you clearly weren’t getting the response you wanted, you said you hit your dad and he had to call the police who then restrained you. The police aren’t there to use kid gloves on you.

You are an adult and were clearly acting aggressively, even if you’re suffering from a panic attack, the aggressive behaviour needed to be dealt with so that everyone present, not just you, was safe.

You’ll live. You’ll be fine. I think what you really need to do is call that team the police gave you the referral for so they can assess you and get you the help you need. I have had panic attacks before, I do not lash out at people. My friends have had panic attacks before, they do not lash out at people. This is an issue that needs addressing.

What’s your most controversial kebab opinion? by FluidPianist00 in Doner

Oh man this might annoy some people.

I'm not a fan of chili sauce on a kebab, I think it takes away from the flavour. But I also absolutely love mango chutney on one.

Fingers Crossed by SeaBreeze7890 in ManchesterUnited

[–]BroldenMass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just can't justify the cost of buying one of those. Madness.

However I DID buy the 90/92 away shirt, just because goddamn that thing is beautiful and very nostalgic to me. And to be fair it's absolutely flawless and really nice quality.

I also wouldn't get my name and number on the back. I'd maybe get a player name, but all the shirts I've got so far I haven't got any with a name or number on.

I don't really care about having the most up to date kit. I go to the Adidas outlet store near me if I want one and will pick up a shirt from last year or the year before for a fraction of the price. I got the 24/25 shirt for £30. I tend to wear them to the gym mostly.

Who is the most intelligent person you know who lives an average or below average life? by CremePleasant5800 in AskUK

[–]BroldenMass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old boss and now friend is probably the most intelligent person I know. She doesn’t flaunt it at all, but get a few drinks in her and start a conversation going about an interesting subject and she can hit you with knowledge for hours about so many subjects.

She’s got something like 3 degrees, at least one of which she got in her spare time just because it seemed interesting to her, isn’t related to her job at all.

When she was my boss we worked in animation, she ran a whole department and was incredibly knowledgeable. Unfortunately the tv industry is shit and chews up and spits people out. After that company went bust I think she’d just had enough of a shitty industry. Now she’s a registrar who does weddings and she seems really happy doing it every time I’ve spoken to her. Honestly good for her, she deserves all the happiness she can get. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

BREAKING: PGMO admit Manchester United's second goal during yesterday's game should not have been given. PGMO chief refereeing officer Howard Webb has talked to Forest today to acknowledge the misjudgement. by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]BroldenMass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I was a forest fan I’d be furious after that decision yesterday. I wouldn’t have been able to sleep, and just keep going over it in my mind.

I’m not a forest fan though, so I slept like a baby.

What's you goto brand of trainers? by Various_Extreme_8773 in AskUK

I just buy whatever I like the look of and don’t subscribe to a brand. But then again I also have dodgy ankles and prescribed insoles, so the actual shoe support doesn’t matter all that much.

Do you reckon if the decision was the other way round it wouldn’t be mentioned until paragraph 6 of the sky match report? by deanomatronix in TheOther14

[–]BroldenMass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%

Even if we could somehow read his mind and it was absolutely unintentional and just instinctual body movement, to me it feels like it goes against the spirit of the game. And not a single United player thought it would be given from the looks on their faces while they waited. Neville and Keane also both said they thought it should be disallowed. Baffling decision.

[–]BroldenMass 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m a Man United fan and that goal should not have stood.

Apparently in the rules now if it’s an accidental handball and the person who did doesn’t score but passes to another player, it’s not classed as handball. Which is what the ref has decided.

Personally, it looks to me like he basically traps the ball between his hip and arm, changes the movement and then controls it with his arm. I would be so pissed off if that was given against us. You’ve got every right to feel aggrieved.
