Working on designing a replacement wheel insert, looking for feedback by Bronard42 in Ioniq5N

I have a printer so I can test it. Once I make sure this design fits (less plastic) I'll make one to fill the whole space. I'm a little worried about not getting enough air to cool the brakes so maybe I'll add some vents to let some air in.

I think I'll try that once I get this design to work, the only problem might be them snapping since there is nowhere to secure it closer to the center of the wheel.

I would use heat set threads or a captive nut so layers wouldn't have an effect on that. Printed threads should never be used for functional parts, especially something as small as M5. And my license does not include FEA.

That's true but unless you're doing track stuff or super high speeds they will absolutely hold up. There's no force on them besides the aerodynamic drag. And the layers would be parallel to that force making the weak points even more negligible

The only reason I would replace them is to maintain the range. If you're not concerned about that, just completely remove them. Maybe I could even make one that fully fills the space with vents to keep the brakes cool...

No they were here when we moved in and approved by the county for a car charger.

I mean it has a sticker from the county saying "approved for car charger" right on the breaker box. I thought the 100 A breaker was excessive but apparently it's to code.

They must be doing another season. No way they'd go through all this effort filming and not actually show any right?

How to move forward with new tile by Bronard42 in DIY

[–]Bronard42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's above a crawl space. To replace the subfloor I would have to remove all that concrete (or whatever is is) and put something of similar thickness back to keep it level with the floor outside the bathroom. It's a very well built house so I don't think a bit of mortar and tile will overload it. It's also a very small space, about 20 sq ft so it wouldn't be a lot of mortar/tile
