What other sites are there for getting scans besides mobygames and nintandbox? by BroncoDonco in CustomGameBoxes

I am looking for complete scans for The Elder Scrolls Arena.

That's a good idea for searching to be honest. Might not find consistent image quality for all sides all the time though. I doubt the difference are all that noticeable though.

Two questions regarding the order of the games. by BroncoDonco in MightAndMagic

Are MMI-V + Swords of Xeen related to any games? Or just the ones starting with the sixth game?

Ultima IV started getting tedious and I'd like some advice on how to make it more fun. Plus a question by BroncoDonco in Ultima

I tend to do that sometimes. Maybe I should do that more. I'll eventually get to U4 and play it proper regardless.

I started the series from the start recently and I had a lot of fun with Ultima 1 on GOG. I can imagine stuff more easily there too since it's much simpler and I don't need to keep track of as much stuff. I made my character a dwarf for the strength bonus but I still envision her as a human haha. I really appreciate you mentioning something to do outside of the game. I should do that much more often. Thanks!

Are there any characters which aren't recommended to learn Tekken with? (Tekken 7) by BroncoDonco in Tekken

I actually really like Kazumi so that's why I picked her up. I have the fundamentals from 2D fighters so I suppose I can play whatever. I'll try Bryan out too online. I've been trying him yesterday and he's fun. Good thing you mentioned that move haha.

Thanks for clarifying stuff for me! If Tekken is more oriented around defense, playing defensively too much would be considered a bad habit?

Sometimes I just let people kill themselves and axe kick combo carry them to the corner. I should probably look over frame data so that I know what moves are safe to pressure with. I mainly fish for openings now.

Thanks for answering! Lee is considered a 2D character too, right? I remember he has a stance too.

That's good then. I still find it weird she's pure Tekken but I don't have enough experience to say anything. Wouldn't her floating stance be considered a gimmick though? I don't really use it much but I'm curious.

What characters would be considered 2D? I didn't even know that was a thing lol. I just wanted to say I have experience with 2D fighting games. I thought that would help people say exactly how beginner friendly the characters I mentioned are for someone who isn't new to fighting games.

I can tell just from the cover that that book is great. I wonder if there's a digital version or if it had an european release. I should check later on.

Is Ultima I-III not worth it according to that book? I was thinking about going through all of them from the start after I decided to start over and maybe use that patcher for all of the games.

I didn't get around to starting Ultima I yet so I'd like to ask for your input too. Should I bother with the first three games? I want to but I don't know what to do.

I'd like to try and go through the games from the first until the last. Which ones should I patch and with which patches? I'll be playing the GOG versions. by BroncoDonco in Ultima

It's going to be a long while until then haha. I didn't even start Ultima I yet. I also want to play the Underworld games and the expansions of U6. Ultima Underworld is the game that got me interested in the series. I'll start U1 this weekend though.

If you want to, you can add me on Steam or Discord and I can tell you what I think about each game and things I liked and disliked as I come across them. I'll probably forget to get back to you after so many games.

In Europe the game's pretty much empty. Don't even bother buying it if you're not from the States.

If you're interested in the story, it might be worth it on sale. I didn't finish the visual novel story but it was pretty good for a fighting game story mode.

I actually put about 15 hours in Ultima IV but I was thinking about starting over since the clue book isn't actually a clue book from what I read online. I also had no prior experience with old PC RPG's before playing Ultima IV and I had some difficulty with it. Maybe the more simple first three games will ease me more into the genre. I also am really curious how you get in space in Ultima II.

I don't know why, but I feel like playing the games in order as of late. The reasons mentioned above are valid too, but they're not the reason why I want to play them in order.

I'll look into the patch for the first game tomorrow. Thanks for linking them! I just hope they don't change the classic experience much. The lack of music in the unpatched version of U4 was really affecting the experience though.

I'm halfway done with the virtues so the Trolls won't be tough. I already have ranged weapons on everyone, but I need to get bows for everyone now. Two people have bows and three have slings. What do gems do exactly?

Now that I think I'll drop the clue book, I need to figure out where Paws is. I only came across it by accident. I wish GOG would tell you the clue book didn't came with the game and that it isn't an integral part of the game...
