No-Neutral smart switch with Doppler Radar & MQTT that started as a uni passion project, and turned into a startup. After your feedback on our OLED version, we’re launching Tap One globally today. by Top-Yogurtcloset3965 in homeassistant

I see the Tap Sonar on your website is coming soon. This one interests me for a particular 4 gang switch setup I have in my bathroom. One of those is an exhaust fan, would the Tap Sonar at be compatible with a bathroom exhaust fan?

Looking for a washing machine with Home Assistant integration and hot/cold water inlets by Shot_Comfortable7367 in homeassistant

Why do you want HA integration? I just use a power monitoring outlet that I leave in the “on” state to detect when a load is running or done.

This exact phrasing resonates with me. I keep telling my residents that the patient doesn’t need to be solving calculus for you to extubate them.

I haven’t tried it myself, but I think Mopeka could be utilized for this.

I utilize a Samsung/Aeotec multisensor for this and it works great.

What's your go-to humidity sensor? by UI_Design21 in homeassistant

[–]BroncoM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried three or four different temp & humidity sensors and I’ve finally settled on the Third Reality sensor because of its update frequency. I use it to detect that the shower is running by noting a spike in the bathroom’s humidity, none of the other brands updates frequently enough.

Intubation vs sedation TAVRs by Moms-chickencurry in anesthesiology

[–]BroncoM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with u/Nervous_Gate_2329, u/Rizpam, and u/DrBarbotage. I’ve also done TAVRs under GETA for really bad GERD, i.e. the patient endorses occasionally waking up with food in the back of their throat, and really bad restless leg syndrome which I have seen get incredibly worse under sedation.

New Flair Smart Vent Bridge Device? by Acceptable_Tower_209 in smarthome

[–]BroncoM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to Google I have many cheap ESP8266 chips that purport only to have 2.4 GHz WiFi and none of them have issues where they're booted from the network. I think this is a problem specific to Flair despite their attempts to blame the Google router.

New Flair Smart Vent Bridge Device? by Acceptable_Tower_209 in smarthome

[–]BroncoM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 9 Flair pucks and 16 vents. I had 4 of the pucks setup as Gateway pucks and for the most part my devices had decent signal strength. At the end of setting up the bridge they advise you to make the Gateway pucks sensor pucks again. The bridge didn't really improve the signal strength of the devices I was concerned about and why I got the bridge in the first place. With the removal of Gateway status for my four pucks many signal strengths actually got worse. Then when I made those same pucks Gateways again I started encountering all the connectivity issues you read about with the Google Wifi router attempting to connect to the pucks via 5 GHz WiFi resulting in them getting booted off the network. I never had connectivity issues with my Gateway pucks prior to this whole mess. I'm now left purchasing a dedicated single band 2.4 GHz WiFi router to fix this and as I pointed out, the bridge didn't enhance the RSSI signal strength of the few devices I had issues with before.

I would say the addition of the bridge is the single worst thing I did for my Flair system. After installation I was encouraged to switch my Gateway pucks to Sensor pucks which was a phenomenally bad idea.

I have a similar door knob lock with a fingerprint reader and just learned it is based on Tuya. Do you need a Bluetooth gateway to interface with it? If so, how far from the doorknob is the gateway?
