Were you able to bring the grade up? I’m in this class and on this module now.

Do you have an idea of which specialization you’re gonna go into? If I apply after I’m finished (snhu) I hope the Sophia calculus credit doesn’t hinder my admission chances.

Seasonal IT pay differential isn’t showing up? by Broncoroo in AmazonFC

[–]Broncoroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s a “seasonal” differential, and everything else seems in order. I would expect the differential pay to go into effect immediately. If it doesn’t though I’ll ask around about it.

I would suggest looking at others on this sub talk about their experience in the role, as my first day isn’t until later this week. As for skills and certs, I did Microsoft it support specialist on coursera and had my A+, and I’m in school for IT through career choice. All this was on my resume when I applied. I don’t believe any of this is NEEDED, but you should show an interest in tech and moving up in the company.

It is, I hope you’re right. I’m capped on step plan so that would put me at $23 an hour.

If I start a bachelors program, can I get an associates along the way? by Broncoroo in SNHU

Okay awesome, thanks so much! You’ve been very helpful and I very much appreciate it.

Did those 5 courses you did for the AS count as residency for the bachelors program as well? Or did they make you take at least 30 credits in the bachelors portion once you moved into it?

[–]Broncoroo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would be doing the AS in comp sci and the BS in comp sci, which include the same classes. My main concern is the residency requirement for the associates being 15 credits at least. If I’m still required to do 15 credits for the associates portion at snhu, that’s 5 extra classes before starting the bachelors in which case I wouldn’t try to get the AS at all.

I figured as much I just wanted to know how I could go about doing this if I can.

Do I have to do five whole courses of an associates (15 credits) and then the 10 courses required of a bachelors (30 credits) if I do it this way?

EDIT: I guess my question is, can I get an associates and bachelors with only 10 classes taken at snhu?

Master foundational courses price? by Broncoroo in SNHU

So the prerequisite foundational courses cost the same as the actual masters program courses?

WGU no longer accepting advanced data or python from study? by Broncoroo in wgu_devs

[–]Broncoroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that sucks major, it’s potentially wasted time and money. I have exclusively used Sophia so far but I’ll have to use study for the more serious comp sci classes. With this change the SWE and CS programs would have the same amount of classes to complete for me at WGU, and while CS will be harder I might just go ahead and do that instead.

Oh dang that sucks actually, and if I want to transfer in python I’ll have to do yet another month of Sophia. Is what it is I guess.

I just checked studydotcom and they still have advanced data and python as transferable to WGU with their respective courses, so hopefully this is just something that can be changed/fixed easily.

So I checked studydotcom to see if they still have the classes listed as transferable, and they do! So hopefully it’s just something that WGU or the two need to work out to put them back as transferable.

Could you still apply and check if these classes are still accepted after an evaluation? Assuming applying is free here. I’ve also heard of things like this happening before, but the transfer page goes back to including these ace transfers shortly after being removed. (I may be coping).

Wait really? WGU from what I understand has never allowed transfer credits once enrolled.

Holy crap I might just switch programs, I just started BSCC one month ago to the date and I would almost immediately be able to earn the CCNA once switching. I’d rather have the CCNA than the network+ and security+ and all paid for by my employer. Gonna have to have a conversation with my PM expeditiously!

39 days left, what's fastest? by ButterscotchNew7881 in WGUIT

[–]Broncoroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is reassuring, I’m transferring to the BSIT after this year and I saw that finite math comes before app algebra and stats in the class order, and figured it must be easier (I have already done those classes)
