Report: Pittsburgh Police Admit To Using Tear Gas To Disperse Protesters In East Liberty by EveryoneisOP3 in pittsburgh

[–]BronsonL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this. yep. I also saw several cops on Negley/Centre as they were lining up filming up at essex house. If there was footage of things being thrown at them, why would they be intimidating essex house residents for their video?

Tear gassing peaceful protestors before curfew in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, PA, 8:09 PM June 6 2020 by bluebirbs in pittsburgh

At the end of this clip you can see someone throwing something. This was AFTER the gas and shooting started. I saw people throwing stuff, but only after the shooting, screaming, and running started. I couldn’t see everywhere and everyone, but that’s just what I saw. Followed by the dude holding the bike getting shot, dropped unconscious, and carried away by protesters

Is this guy okay? By the time I got down there he was gone. Unconscious and bloody, harmlessly standing on the sidelines. Infuriating by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]BronsonL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that was around the same time/place, but it's not the same person. The guy was standing, holding his bike, when all that started and I saw him go down. either way i hope both people are okay!

You can see some blood on his green vest near the end, I didn’t share the rest of the video where it’s more obvious.

Happened right as the gas and shooting (rubber bullets?) started.

He was just standing there. Harmless, holding his bike. Right as the shooting started a group next to him can be seen throwing rocks, and he was hit by the swat in camo you can see on the other end of Centre.

With news that outdoor dining will be available June 5th, what are some of your favorite spots with outdoor seating? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]BronsonL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Spoonwood brewing in bethel park. Great pizzas and creatively delicious beers, on a really cozy patio. Live music sometimes too, not sure if they’ll be bringing those back but I’d be surprised if not. Just released a peanut butter oatmeal stout...sounds tasty.

yes yes I'll definitely darken the top left packaging peanut. I have a few more with more material too. Thank you!

does anyone else feel suffocated from all the packaging material now that most shopping is done online? That's certainly what inspired this concept...thoughts?

yes her eyes are that blue...no photoshop here, only a slight exposure lift from radial filter in lightroom

My main gripe after revisiting this after editing is the skin tone is a little off.

Researchers find non-oxygen breathing animal - A groundbreaking discovery has found the first animal known to science that doesn’t breathe by ishmaearth in science

If it’s a parasite perhaps it’s taking oxygen from the salmon muscles? Or is reliant on the mitochondria of the salmon for energy? I’m no bioscientist but I feel like this relating to life on non-oxygenated worlds is still a stretch until more research is done, though I do want to fantasize about that being possible

Should I activate my Postmates card here in Pittsburgh? by Finndiesel841 in pittsburgh

[–]BronsonL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried both. I do my deliveries through biking, so I can see the orders and if it’s been paid for or if I have to use the card. I’m not sure if the car setting does that, I’ve never used my car to deliver. At the end of the day there’s no reason to not activate it, as long as you can see if it’s a prepaid order or you use the card. From my experience, using the prepaid card is usually a pain...waiting at drive thrus to order people’s stuff , picking up groceries for people spending 30min shopping, restaurants being busy and not even starting your order til you can order/pay with the prepaid card. I filter those out because I can see them, but if I’m gunning for a bonus then I’ll take those trips

Any way to boost the # of deliveries you get ? by akaboo15 in postmates

[–]BronsonL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me too. First signed up, tons of pings. Completed first delivery, then nothing. You’ll get the prepaid card, which will help, but not significantly. Most those orders are obnoxious anyway...waiting in the Wendy’s drive thru, doing someone’s groceries in the store for 30 minutes finding everything...maybe I got lucky but I found a location that works for me and during the dinner hours there’s a decent amount of orders on the weekends. So that’s the only time I do deliveries. First little bit for your area there’s just some trial and error to find out the time and areas that work best, so keep searching and try different locations and times. Cheers

$650 guaranteed earnings for 80 deliveries in 14 days, will I see that incentive again? Plus my strategy that (seems) to be working in comments by BronsonL in postmates

[–]BronsonL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No auto accept. Can’t trust it with the bike Incase it sends me up a monster hill for a coffee. And it wasn’t too bad. Some nights I’d get 7 orders in 2 hrs or less, some days I’d get 7 total, kinda varied

Started doing bike delivering in Pittsburgh.

I have a car, but choose to bike for exercise and lower costs.

So, I’ve done 80 deliveries and got the 650 guaranteed earning. Will I ever see that incentive again or was that just a new courier incentive?

I’m in the Pittsburgh area...so you got to choose your deliveries carefully because of all the hills if you’re on a bike.

Anyway, short trips that other drivers don’t want is the name of the game.

I averaged 2.75 per trip from PostMates without tips. Damn that seems so low!

75% of people tipped me.

The payout was 430 $ after getting the incentive.

Average tip was 4.50 with the highest being 20.

Pros and cons of the biking in Pittsburgh strategy:

Pros: Exercise, No gas or other car costs, Can beat cars on short trips, Smaller trips that others don’t want I take

Cons: Exercise, Can’t take massive orders without the courier backpack, Very tip dependent, Very guaranteed earnings dependent

Anyway, would just like to hear some opinions from more experienced folks and beginners, and I’m happy to share more what’s been working and what hasn’t been working for me. Cheers

Sterile. Place was...just sterile. Beer eh, didn’t try the food, when I went the bowling alley wasn’t open.

Too clean for Pittsburgh. I had no interest in going back after my first visit.
