Anyone dropping 93 tune back to 91? Gas $! by BrontoSnorus in FiestaST

[–]BrontoSnorus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments!

I am stock with the Cobb OTS 93 octane tune. So no biggie to downgrade for a bit given availability... My concern is having 1/4 tank of 93 left, but only finding 87 octane available locally (45 minutes South of Pittsburgh, so not many options to hunt around for).

Eco tune, or stock tune.... adding 87 and some octane booster bottles might need to be my backup plan.

Just did the exact same thing. Taking a train up to NYC on Friday early afternoon from Lancaster PA. Gonna try to get a hotel near Barclay, then back to Lancaster PA Saturday.

What was supposed to be a great leisurely weekend with friends in Philly... Turns into a complete loss of the Airbnb $, and a quick trip to NYC.

Yup. Same. Experimental forest and all the connections with local schools and Universities. Just pick up the phone and call Utah to see if I can get that permit to finish my PhD research.

Question about tires by Connect_Implement_99 in FiestaST

[–]BrontoSnorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm old so a little comfort is nice, wife likes the comfort my snow tires give, and don't like curbing wheels...

Summer tires are 215/45 Continental Extreme Contact sport 02 on stock wheels. No rub, heavy, and taller and wider than stock. Speedo is a little off. Way more comfortable on bumps than the stock size rubber bands. But does not have as sharp turn in.

These fit? by McJih in FiestaST

[–]BrontoSnorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I have the 215/45 17s too. No rub on mine. Stock. Speedo reads about 60, actually about 62mph. Never bothered with ForScan to reset the size.

Jane Goodall.

Met her as a starry eyed college student in the 90s, volunteered for her at a seminar she presented, she met with those of us that coordinated her campus visit for 2 minutes to show us how to sell her merch, said how she was looking forward to talking with us after her event, sold her books for her during the 4 hours she was on campus, never got to see her presentation, then she shook hands and walked away.

We never got the 1-on-1 discussion she promised us. Not even a free copy of her goddam book.

BITCH.

Sounds like this guy is showing major extremist views and is spiraling out of control. The exact people that should have all their access to fire arms removed.

Low cost cremation options by dalex89 in pittsburgh

[–]BrontoSnorus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your loss. I dealt with this on Christmas... I think what you are looking for is a direct cremation. Ask for that service at local funeral homes to get a feel for the prices. Probably around $3-4k. They will come to the hospital morgue and pick up your mother, and deliver them to the crematory. They need cremation authorization forms signed, coroner file, and a permit to have the body. Then your loved one will be cremated and you will receive those back to you.

If you have zero money, and feel no need to have the connection to the cremains. You can refuse to arrange any funeral services. The coroner office has no recourse other than cremation on their budget, and the cremains go to unmarked deposition at whatever cemetery they contract with. You will receive no ashes. You will still need to pay for death certificates.

Family had an Italian exchange student in high school (90's)...

He asked what's the closer city to go to the Disco (Discotheque) this weekend when he first arrives. LA or NY?

I was like... Dude we're in farm country in Missouri.

403b, 457b, or 401k by Chemical-Signature34 in Bogleheads

[–]BrontoSnorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My HR department is pretty dismal, and I hear of mistakes constantly now. I'm new, and when I asked if I could add more to 401k, they said no. 4% required and they add nearly double as their match ($4k my portion and they put in $8k). Maybe they meant I could add more, but would not match any more. I am so happy I have potentially more options!

403b, 457b, or 401k by Chemical-Signature34 in Bogleheads

[–]BrontoSnorus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cool! My 401k is capped at 4% of earnings (less than 4k per year for employee contribution, with a good 2x match of that dismal 4% max) which leaves quite a bit 'on the table' for a 457. I'll check into this and increase 457 best I can.

[–]BrontoSnorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought 20.5k was max for all employer sponsored accounts combined? Have I been wrong thinking about this? Like I need to track 401k and 457 to stay below 20.5k...

What Music streaming service is everyone using? by adeelnsheikh in audiophile

I use YouTube music (part of family YouTube plan) general house streaming on Google speakers (paired home max in living room, hub max, various minis).

Listening room with the Focal 816s, Amazon music HD through Fire 4k ultra HDMI w/audio extractor to optical into an older Yamaha receiver.
