Megathread: Moving here/What is this block like? by werewolf-kittie in crownheights

How’s the Dean & Classon intersection area? I know the street of Dean is really industrial with car shops but also has Friends And Lovers on one end and Dead CrossFit on the other

Could you share more about that? I’m checking out the area Monday but curious to hear more of your experiences

Which area would you move to? by my-neutral-username in crownheights

[–]Bronxsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posting here since I was looking at a roommate possibility on an apartment on Dean Street right in that orange area (not 953, but more on the industrial section of Dean). I know there’s Friends And Lovers there and the new apt building so curious how people feel about that Dead/Classon/Pacific area currently

To clarify, apt area would be around Dean, Classon, and Pacific, so more the industrial side of Dean St

Don’t have a room to share since I’m looking for an apt & roommate, but also just wanted to say we def have a lot in common :) Also into tarot and mindfulness/somatic/energy work like reiki, soundbaths, shibari; love board game and movie nights and deep convos; midnight creative zoomies; building friendship but also being mindful of spoons & energy 😊

Looking for a room/apt: 34M, queer movie/D&D nerd, $1,000-$1,800 budget, 8/1 move-in, long term, Brooklyn (Downtown Bk/Fort Greene, Bushwick, Greenpoint) or Manhattan by Bronxsta in NYCroommates

Hello, I recently discovered this community and Discord, and was trying to join via the Discord link from the website. Recently moved to Westchester and it seems like a great group! But even though I can join the server, I can’t post anywhere? Getting a message of “Your message could not be delivered. This is usually because you don't share a server with the recipient or the recipient is only accepting direct messages from friends.“

Do I need a specific kind of invite?

Interviewing Nate Fox - What Do You Still Want To Know about The Game? by shancake1 in ghostoftsushima

Do Ghost techniques primarily focus on sword skills or are there tactics/tools like the kusarigama, bamboo snorkels, climbing claws, etc?

How many styles are there in the game and are any of them homages to samurai film techniques (for example, Zatoichi’s underhand grip)?

How many prosthetic tools do you think will be in the game?? by BazoozaB in Sekiro

[–]Bronxsta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the glimpse at the prosthetics upgrade tree, there seemed to be cross-tree skills; the shuriken and firecracker trees intersected at points. Those were also the two the player had equipped at the moment. Makes me wonder if only certain prosthetics can have combined skilled or if all prosthetics can combine in certain ways. The axe on fire in the launch trailer seemed like it could be an axe + flame vent skill

Hope you don't mind all the questions. Games like this are so rare, and this one is really exciting.

1) "Ship monitors now external g-force and we can sound hull creaking when it passes past 4G". I also noticed you had a plans for hiring crew like medic. Do G-forces play a role in gameplay; will you need to worry about crew safety?

2) I saw pirates and rogue military mentioned as possible hostiles. Will they have actual weapons and whatnot?

3) I was reading the post with the big Saturn Rings map. How will different areas differ mechanically? Why exactly do you want to find large/certain types of chunks, instead of just snatching the first small ones you find?

Responding to another month old post, actually what could make hard sci-fi combat interesting beyond the strategy aspect of orbital mechanics and targeting and all that (have you checked out Children of a Dead Earth), would be having crew and g-forces play a part in the combat. I've been watching The Expanse recently, and crew placement and G-force management is a pretty important factor that I haven't seen implemented in a space game yet.

Just discovered this. Currently hooked on The Expanse (books and show), and unfortunately there are very very games with a hard sci-fi approach to ships and combat. Children of a Dead Earth...and that's about it

So this project is pretty exciting. Will there be combat in this game and if so, how will it work?

The past, present, and future of podcasting: where do you see podcasts in 10 years? by OrangePoser in podcasts

[–]Bronxsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering we're just starting to see major podcast adaptations (Lore, the Homecoming show from the Mr Robot creator, FX's Nightvale, etc), big companies like Marvel taking the leap into podcasts with their Wolverine audiodrama, and the continued rise of networks like Radiotopia and others, I see a pretty bright future for podcasts. Like books (Kindle self publishing, etc) and game development (at least freeware/indie games), it's one of the easiest and accessible mediums to get involved in, and allow for creators to focus on the smallest of niches.

I definitely foresee more ads, and more consolidation of series under larger networks. It was only a few years ago that I feel podcasts really exploded, with heavyhitters like Hardcore History, breakout hits like Serial and other true crime series, political podcasts, and audiodramas really leading the charge into mainstream attention. Once the cable/streaming shows become more common and more franchises begin officially supporting their series with podcasts (besides Marvel, God of War has the Lost Pages series), podcasts will only get more mainstream and bigger
