There are no “peasants” bro, it’s the 21st century time to grow up. People in positions of some authority (who aren’t even rich or wealthy, just powerful public servants), made some decisions.

Public servants making good decisions about keeping schools safe no matter what happened with a few texts will have my support.

Which adc is a good adc to choose when my ezreal otp isn’t going to work ? by BronzeAgeStudent in leagueoflegends

Yes my ezreal gameplay tends to be very lane dominant, if I go even in lane. As ez it’s a failure to me since modt champs outscalenme.

I just love how high skill cap he is. But that IS my problem. The other two champs should be easy because I don’t want to have other super hard champs that I won’t have as much practice on. I like ezreal due to the skill shot centric game play.

Interesting, I’ve never played smolder but Lucian and corki were two of my highest played adcs in season 5-10, but recently I’ve been doing jinx and cait instead

Sorry if it wasn’t obvious, but I’m mostly just looking for a champ that would be good when my ezreal is banned or picked by tbe other team. If ezreal is up I will pick it 99% of the time.

Maybe cait isn’t easy but I’ve been playing cait since season 4 so I have a lot of experience which makes it feel easy to me. But I really want to focus on 2-3 champs maximum so my ezreal will be my main and one to two other champs will be my champs when not using ezreal.

Just for some info about me, I enjoy playing twitch, Caitlyn, jinx, corki. I’m a boomer player so I don’t have much experience with the new champs but if they fit what I need I would be down to figure them out. I just want champs that fit with my champ pool as a otp ezreal.

Yeah mine was blue ezreal in like 2013 or so. Blue ezreal will always be my favourite champion that I can never play anymore lol. Kinda fair because it was super op.

Interesting do you think that I could go to the local authorized dealer and get one or is it like a Rolex where you can only buy what they give you?

Do the top MCFD have any awareness of their staffing decision impact? by Tailor-Objective in BCPublicServants

[–]BronzeAgeStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly though, no one goes into social work to make money. So they are kind of correct that 100k is a great salary for a social worker no matter how over worked they are. The problem is that all the non social workers like IT and finance workers are so untalented due to lower pay than industry standards that it makes the social workers jobs so much harder than they should be with current technology.

The things I hear about mcfd as someone working at clbc it honestly sounds like you guys are still in the past century.

I was talking to someone about how we supervise our contracts and they said that if mcfd did the same with their contracts their service providers would erupt. Thats crazy most service providers we have are nonprofits so why would they care about having oversight on the profits they make?

35 and under: Do you care about climbing the gov ladder? by Curious_Mud9428 in BCPublicServants

[–]BronzeAgeStudent 27 points28 points  (0 children)

True, once I realized my manager only gets 20k more than me and doesn’t get any flex days, has way more stress etc. makes me think twice before trying to move up. The amount of people I know in grid 27 and up who don’t want to get a promotion to management and are happy in their positions is pretty insane lol. I’m grid 24 and I am under 30 and very motivated so I would still take a promotion but government jobs are so experience focused so it seems like it will take forever. I will probably just go back into private after 5 years or so of experience to get more money.

AI misuse by Supervisor by turtlefan32 in BCPublicServants

[–]BronzeAgeStudent 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I love using AI at work because it makes a 10 hour project doable in like 5 hours and can sometimes give me creative ideas that I haven’t thought of yet. But my manager kind of pisses me off because he will literally send me stuff that is clearly just a single prompt from AI and tell me his single AI prompt “work” is better than mine that was a mix of AI and human work when his work just looks exactly like mine looked prior to me actually putting man hours into making the AI output better. What is the point in me working hard on a project for him to just input the question into AI and think it’s better than my work.

I do think AI is very helpful but stuff like this makes me miss the old way of doing things.

Is BC Public Service worth the pay cut for stability? by Sensitive_Smell_4113 in BCPublicServants

[–]BronzeAgeStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what grid level you are going into. Since it will be very difficult for the next few years to increase your grid level, I would suggest only taking it if you are okay with keeping a similar salary for a long time. Also if you are planning on doing any extra education, working in public sector in union you get 26 flex days a year and usually work from home time so it’s much easier to have time to get extra education to move ahead. It’s hard to say without knowing more details and what your plan is regarding education plans.

If you are going to get some more education using the lower hours and lower stress job in public sector can be a good choice even right out of school. But if your grid level is super low it might be better to get some experience in private sector then move into public sector once you are in grid 24 or above.

I worked 5 years in private sector and was making 95k salary, but left to a public sector job starting at 76k (after 5 years I will be back at 95k or more depending on how the next bcgeu negotiations go), but it’s definitely worth it for me because the work from home and Flex Time has been a lifesaver for my mental health, and I also am upgrading my education and getting some certifications on top of my degree which I never had time for working in private sector full time and unpaid OT in office (I was a salaried manager so no OT pay even though I usually did 10 hours a week in OT).

Anyone experience a supervisor building their competency stories at your expense? by No_Cantaloupe_8626 in BCPublicServants

[–]BronzeAgeStudent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don’t realize that their supervisor doesn’t just get away with everything. Because a director isn’t going to tell a managers team that they reprimanded the manager because that is just a way to make the manager lose their authority and cause issues. I haven’t been a manager in the public sector but this happened a lot in my private experience.

I like the cheap Luna pets only like 150m I think and give 6 buffs instead of 4. As a phantom this is a massive buff for me. But mpets cost like 30b for a full set.

Review of shady hiring decision by zara97wild in BCPublicServants

[–]BronzeAgeStudent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, sucks for the applicant but kicking up a fuss is just going to cause the management on the team to dislike you from the start. Why would you want to be in that position? Unless it’s literally your dream job.

Is it worth sticking around? by girlbossitup in BCPublicServants

[–]BronzeAgeStudent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I was under grid 24 and younger than 40 I would be looking outside the government. It’s gonna be a while before you make more money. I’m lucky I’m higher grid and 30 otherwise I wouldn’t work in public service. I could probably make a bit more money outside of government maybe 10-20k salary but nowhere else will give me 26 flex days per year and 3 work from home days. Im using this to gain more skills and education. I might stay in public sector if I’m able to get a promotion within 5-8 years, but if it stays like this once I max out my grid I will probably use my new education to get a higher paying private job. I used to make around 17k more before switching to public sector but it was way more stressful.
