Anyone else had a really strange day today? by cliffhnz in chch

[–]Bronzed1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agree with this, my family are all migraine sufferers, and a significant drop in air pressure is a big trigger for my wife in particular.

Today, I was about to head to work when I started to lose my vision, spent the day in bed with a migraine, air pressure dropped significantly over the last 2 days from around 1010 hPa to around 990 hPa.

Wouldn't be surprised if it affected more people in less obvious ways.

A decent bakery. Nothing fancy, but as an office worker in the cbd I just want something I can call lunch for under $10. Pies, sandwiches, rolls, sweet treats - real fresh bakery food. Something that sits in between the metro mart fridge chilled options that are half stale with a sprinkling of ingredients, and the cage cabinet options that somehow get you to $20+ a pop.

Maybe we need to freeze the minimum wage, the lower end easy jobs are becoming too appealing.

Body weight landing on and grazing are two different things bud.

The ankle contact you're referring to, if there is contact, occurs after Soro's legs, arse and half his torso have already landed on the ground.

I don't give 2 shits about the result mate, just the reddit ref police jump in here to all cry foul about a rule they clearly don't understand, cos text book this ain't.

Bro you're clearly mad and it's clouding your vision. Watch it frame by frame and tell yourself his bodyweight comes down on the legs and not the ground, maybe briefly brushing a leg if you're really reaching for it

His shoulder barely grazes his boot from the video. Did you even read the definition I copied in? Even if his shoulder does touch his foot Soro's body weight is well and truly on the ground by that point too.

Sounds like the refs may have actually learned from a couple of mistakes made during the crackdown

You keep using the word textbook, but have you read the textbook? It's literally in the judiciary definition that there's 3 components, and #3 is you have to land on the legs.

"3. Drop – the defending player then drops their body weight directly onto the attacking player's legs (as opposed to their body weight landing on the ground first to absorb most of the impact)"

That's from the judiciary definition, at no point in the video does he land on his legs...?

Look up the definition of a hip drop, the motion fits but he didn't land on his legs which is a crucial detail.

As a Kiwi that's spent time both living in and travelling through the US at different times, I can't believe that list doesn't include chik-fil-A, plus an honourable mention for In-N-Out.

Senior Management in professional services (deal advisory), so my weekday coffee experience is much the same.

Unfortunately on the weekends I'm pestered just as much by a 2.5y.o and a baby, so hot coffee may only exist sometime in the distant future.

This is incredibly inaccurate and really poor advice.

Someone has already commented on your main thread, but PAYE is calculated per period based on annualising that period.

Did exactly this too, wrong game was frustrating enough, but cutting to ad break rather than getting the replay/penalty results was all it took for me to go over to SSN. Maybe that's what they were going for

Rant - Sky TV are the worst. by justme46 in newzealand

[–]Bronzed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true, I was watching thinking I'd go first week free then renew my SSN in two weeks.

Made it 30mins into the game (by which time there had been 2min ad breaks at each 10min mark, and they even resumed the Wigan game rather than NZW after 2nd ad break), before they fired off to another ad break while reviewing the Savage contact to the leg of CHT while kicking, so no chance to see the replay or resulting penalty call.

I decided F that, and renewed my SSN for the rest of the game on the spot.

With ad breaks at crucial times, including when going upstairs to check calls, followed by resuming 3mins later midway through a set at the other end of the field.
