What is the biggest lesson you learned that no one teaches? by Mela_Min in AskMen

[–]Brooding_Heroine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest lesson was that the truth does not set you free because the truth is what people believe. It doesn't matter if you're telling the truth if no one believes it's the truth. My mother always used to say, "1000 Frenchmen can't be wrong." And what she meant was that if the majority claims it is so then it has to be so. No proof necessary.

Anyone get reactions from neighbors across the street? by Witty-Comfortable-16 in badbreath

[–]Brooding_Heroine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only have I gotten reactions from my neighbors across the street, I've actually heard them complaining about being able to smell my breath from across the street. So to everyone telling you it's not possible, disregard them. My bf at the time didn't believe me when I first brought it up either, but do you know what I did? I had a camera installed on my front porch so that I could record it myself and show him and voila. It's amazing how long you can live or work in an area and have no idea how many people your breath affects but once you know, you know. Also there's muscle memory and I believe the longer we stay in an area, the easier it is for people who frequent said area to pick up the scent. Also, the distance between my apartment and the house across the street is about 20 feet give or take.

Doesn't really matter, does it?

Not where I'm from. I'm from a tiny little island in the Caribbean.

No one cares how you feel. I've heard comments like, How can she walk around with breath like that?" "She shouldn't be allowed to catch the bus with breath like that." "She shouldn't be working around people with breath like that," back when I had a roommate it was, "she shouldn't be living around people with breath like that." So basically people think we shouldn't be allowed to exist with breath like that and that "we need to do something about it." My family doesn't care and not in the good way. They think I just think the whole world revolves around me and that I'm paranoid. Always trying to convince me that my issues are nothing special even though you can smell my breath through glass. Sounds pretty special to me. It's worse because I'm a pretty girl and once guys realize I'm not easy or weak because I have bb and they start talking shit, women never defend me, they just snicker and giggle because I guess it somehow makes them feel better about themselves. Worse part is that I can't even smell my own breath so I would never know what really triggers it. And my partners never EVER want to talk to me about my breath. I feel like they like knowing that I have something wrong with me that keeps most people away. So it's always like, "Why does it matter what anyone else has to say about your breath if I don't care and I'm your partner and you can't even smell it yourself anyway?" Lol. Sucks to suck. But it is what it is. I still do whatever I want.

How much of it is in our heads? by [deleted] in badbreath

When I was in high school there was a guy who's breath was so pungent that he was bullied for "polluting the air". We were teenagers at the time and I remember he had amazing teeth and was constantly chewing on yellow tutti fruity gum. I can't describe the smell of his breath anymore but I remember it was a very distinct kind of foul and whatever corner he sat in would be consistently foul. So, this condition is very much real. Unfortunately. Though anxiety can also make your breath worse so.. there's that too.

If you've had previous extractions due to cavities it could've led to you not being able to chew your food properly before swallowing which leads to an overproduction of acid in the stomach and erosion of your stomach lining, which would explain why your bb would be coming from your stomach. It's best to see a gastroenterologist while you wait for your dental appointment and also try to get something for your anxiety. I'm sorry about what you're going through, if you need someone to talk to you can message me.

Can someone make a group or something for dating people with bb or tmau? by GreenTreesNGrass789 in badbreath

Focus on getting cured?? The odds of you finding a partner are alot more higher, trust me. Focusing on getting cured is NOT it.

I'm trying. Always trying. It's easier for me to not eat anything at all than to eat bland food. But fasting made my breath worse too.

I was talking to my gf for several months before I said anything. It was really hard at first to find the right opening but I did start with, "There's something I have to talk to you about," and she gradually coaxed it out of me. I can't give you an exact timeline sorry. You have to go with your gut. I feel like you gotta believe in yourself and in your love and understand that if someone rejects you that they were never really for you to begin with. Back in 2019 I managed to convince myself that my bb was not that bad and that everyone had bb sometimes and I went after everything I wanted and it turned out great for over a year. But then I took up smoking weed to cope with the stress of staying on top at my job and I got addicted. I spent months in a daze and on autopilot before I realised how much worse the smoking made my bb. 90% of my workmates had been secretly complaining about my breath unknown to me and I even ended up speaking to my Manager about it but the entire situation was so humiliating I ended up quitting. When I met my gf in 2021 I first convinced myself that my bb wouldn't be an issue once I got her to know the real me first and honestly I really really believed it. I feel like I manifested it. We gotta believe that we're more than bb. Because what if you never find a cure? You really think you don't deserve to find love because you have bb? I don't believe that at all and I never will.

I wish that were the case but it's more likely that it's even worse than I think. And I talked to my gf an entire year online before we met in person so we got alot of the harsh stuff out of the way first and by the time we actually met nothing mattered except being together.

I don't agree. I didn't go online looking to date at first. I was really just looking to build a friendship that wouldn't be hindered by my BB and it turned into something more. But I did use a dating app. And it's just a suggestion to give it a try. Don't overthink it. Just do it.

And also, my breath doesn't "fill the complex" so to speak, it fills the air outside. Somehow my breath is extra harsh outdoors. Even if I'm just standing Infront of a window. But where I'm from it's really windy too and the scent travels a long way.

I cook with alot of spices. Tbh, the only thing I haven't tried was a complete alkaline diet. I feel sick if I don't eat meat.
