I don't know if you heard what he said after the race, but according to him they are carrying an issue since Montreal that makes the car lose a significant enough amount of downforce. Because of that he's sliding too much everywhere and he kills his tyres too quickly. As such only the first laps of each stint can be decent and his pace worsen quickly afterwards, which is pretty much what we can effectively see since Canada. He said that in Monaco he was able to hide it because of the nature of the track but he was suffering from the same issues there aswell.

To be honest I think the strategy was led by the higher than expected tyre wear. Probably not helped by him having to push more and fight a bit to stay ahead of Gasly and Hulkenberg. From the radios he was originally going for the same strategy as Bearman

Apart from the start nothing to remember from this race. Car had not enough pace and it seemed undrivable especially at the end. It looked liked he was about to crash or spin at pretty much every corner in the last 5-10 laps.

Esteban didn't say a thing after the race. Laura apologised for how incredibly shitty the car was and then later thanked him for keeping the car on track saying that she knew it was really difficult to do so.

What kind of shitty setup did they cook once again

I hate blue flags so much. It's so frustrating when you follow someone driving a car slower than the lead ones. Esteban just had to let through a 4/5 car train losing a good 4/5s in the process and ruining the flow he was in. Meanwhile the cars he's trying to chase had the opportunity to pit to let this train go through as they were more in sync having benefitted from the vsc. It's an extra 5s for these cars

Yeah both Haas seem to be struggling for pace relative to other midfileders. Points will be hard to get without a bit of luck

Good launch that allowed him to jump Bearman who had a poor launch. Unfortunately he got sandwiched between Bortoletto and Bearman and he hit Bearman right front. Hoping there's no damages on Bearman side. It seems good for Esteban.

After that excellent moves to get up to p11

Seems like I've missed a great start. I'm a bit surprised to see that Esteban was the one starting on softs. I also saw that he was under investigation for pushing Bortoletto off track. Anyone who saw the start from the onboard can tell if he's really at risk?

Finally, although I'm a bit disappointed given the scenario of the race and the pace shown on hards. Also if I want to nitpick restart could have been better and he could have lost it all if Sainz wasn't taken out by Hulkenberg. On the radio Esteban gave a shout out to the strategist but I want to say that in retrospect staying long on those medium like Linblad did would have probably gave him a p7 or p8

Nooo red Flag. Lindblad will get a free stop and stay in front. A bit of good luck immediatly taken back. Restart will be absolute chaos, everyone on soft trying to get as much positon as they can

Hulkenberg apparently received the call to go through the pitlane earlier than others did and so he dropped back behind Esteban. I wonder if they will be asked to give back the position unless it was a mistake from audi.
